Personal:

I started running at age 40 (14 years ago!)  I am married to Harold, he is a super supportive husband and we enjoy running and biking the trails along the Wasatch Front together. Between us we have 7 children and 9 grandchildren.  I am really having fun trying new races in scenic parts of Utah, I am a newbie in the ultrarunning world, I am slow, but love everything about it!  I have a lot to learn, but I am enjoying the journey.

Woke up to 4 inches of snow, went to the gym and did 25 min. on the eliptical machine and then for a short run with Odee. I feel like my recovery is going well.

I wish I could jump in the car and go to St. George and do the Snow Half this weekend with Smooth, it would be so much fun, but dang it all the crap I can't! I will just have to be patient and wait for the Mesquite Half in Nov.

There is the Halloween 1/2 in Provo Canyon this weekend. I think registration closes tonight, it will be a fun party!! You can even dress up :) I know some fun people that will be there!

Nice work on the recovery and coming back slowly - NO injuries!

So HAPPY your recovery is going well. Crockett is right about recovery, the more you do it, the easier the recovery.

Wish you would run the Snow Canyon Half w/ me in sunny SG too! That Halloween Half sounds fun. I remember how COLD it was last year. If I didn't have to go to my nephew's wedding, I'd bundle up and run it too!

Yes, not sure what yet, but you can't go wrong with fish nets :) I have the fish net sleeves from the RHPC race last year, so I may go with something along those lines...and I've got a pink 'rocker' wig to go along with it too. I'm going to hit wal-mart tonight and see what I can dig up. It really is a fun race, they will have a heated tent at the start with a stage for a costume contest and everything!! You should come, it will be chilly, but fun!

You ran on the elliptical? Wow! I was expecting some awesome trail :) I'm kind of bummed that the Crest is going to be snow covered for a while.

Smooth, have fun in St. George! My parents are there now looking to buy a winter home there, if they do I will be down for a lot more races. Travel safe and win your AG!!!

Rach, you are right anything with fishnets is good. Have fun, guess I will be a good grandma and go my step grandson's football game instead.

Scott, I will miss the Crest too, but will still get on the Pipeline and a few others this winter.
