Personal:

I started running at age 40 (14 years ago!)  I am married to Harold, he is a super supportive husband and we enjoy running and biking the trails along the Wasatch Front together. Between us we have 7 children and 9 grandchildren.  I am really having fun trying new races in scenic parts of Utah, I am a newbie in the ultrarunning world, I am slow, but love everything about it!  I have a lot to learn, but I am enjoying the journey.

Did my regular route up to Wastach Blvd. and back. It felt easier than all my runs last week, maybe I am slowly coming back.

7.3 from goal

Could you tell me what you are doing to reach your goal of 7.3 and counting? I'm not looking to loose weight but I would like to lean up some. (OK shedding some of my "fluff" would be nice too). How have you've gotten to this point?

From leslie on Mon, Oct 27, 2008 at 11:56:07

Deb, I am not the person to ask about weight loss, I have been trying to lose 10 pounds for a year now, I go up and down the same 5 pounds, I am terrible. I am hoping that by putting the numbers on the blog I will shame myself into getting there, I am so close, but can't seem to get there. Marion is a Weight Watchers leader and is very motivating, you would enjoy following her progress, she is on a roll right now. Good luck on your training, I am so excited for your 50 miler, it is my ulitmate dream/goal!!!!

From marion on Mon, Oct 27, 2008 at 14:09:34

Hey you!!! I am SUPER glad your run went really well! ROCK IT BABY!!!

You must come on Saturday.

hang in there and have a FABULOUS day!!!

How's Paul?

From leslie on Mon, Oct 27, 2008 at 15:34:52

Hey, let me know when and where and I am pretty sure I can come. The earlier the better for me.

I just picked up Paul he is hanging with me today. He looks like Frankenstein with all his staples in his head and it is very odd shaped right now. He is doing okay. Thanks!

From marion on Mon, Oct 27, 2008 at 15:38:05

Hey- Paul is already for Halloween! ;D

I am thinking like 7am. I just need to know if ya'll want to do a 10 miler or a 5 miler? I need a 10 miler, but I can do that on Friday if needs be. I am very OCD on my miles. I have every day planned for almost a year. I love spread sheets ;) Just don't make me change the sheets on my bed!

From leslie on Mon, Oct 27, 2008 at 15:41:29

I am up for 10 or 5 or anything inbetween! You tell me and I will be there, I could use a 10 miler, but am flexible. 7a sounds good. Let me know, that sounds so fun! Do you have a route?

From marion on Mon, Oct 27, 2008 at 15:43:25

No route at all. I don't know the area. Just thought it was a good midway point. Do you?

From leslie on Mon, Oct 27, 2008 at 15:43:37

I am not familiar with Utah county except for the Provo River Parkway, but I can figure it out if you give me the address.

From leslie on Mon, Oct 27, 2008 at 15:45:29

Now that I think of it, I think the Provo River Parkway goes into Thanksgiving Point, it seems like I road my bike on it several years ago.I will see if I can find the trail on the internet.

From marion on Mon, Oct 27, 2008 at 15:46:00

The Jordan River comes down into Lehi. Does the trail follow the river to Utah lake? I'll do some homework.

From leslie on Mon, Oct 27, 2008 at 15:48:38

I think you are right. Thanks for doing the homework! Who all is going?

From marion on Mon, Oct 27, 2008 at 16:04:53

You, Kelli, JonA and me at this point. I'll try to get KimR to come with me. I am going to post it on the discussion board.

GREAT! I am hoping Maurine will be back from Michigan, and I will check with my chicks to see if they want to come. Yahoo!

From leslie on Mon, Oct 27, 2008 at 16:40:06

Maurine will be back in town and so she is coming!!!

From leslie on Mon, Oct 27, 2008 at 17:22:52

Marion, what size of pumkin can do you use for the cookies? I did a large one, and I am not sure that was right.

From Kelli on Mon, Oct 27, 2008 at 17:48:22

Great run today! Glad you are felling "back" and way to go on the weight loss (you are down from the last time you posted). You will get there soon! I hope you have been eating like a saint today---I HAVE!

From leslie on Mon, Oct 27, 2008 at 18:10:52

so far so good Kelli!!! We will be skinny by Sat!!!

From tarzan on Mon, Oct 27, 2008 at 18:15:37

I will be fat on Saturday - so ready to run. I was so bummed to get off the plane today to snow and rain in Michigan.

From leslie on Mon, Oct 27, 2008 at 18:46:44

We will run your fanny off! No worries, enjoy your vacation and the lovely weather!! It is like summer today here.

From tarzan on Mon, Oct 27, 2008 at 18:51:06

What vacation? I am here working with my boss......

From marion on Mon, Oct 27, 2008 at 18:55:12

I don't remember waht size can of pumpkin, I think it is one small per cake mix.

From Kelli on Mon, Oct 27, 2008 at 19:29:34

Skinny by Saturday---nice motto! As of today, I am back up to needing to lose 12 pounds. Ask me how that happened when a few weeks ago I was at 6!!! I am hoping some will melt off since the weekend is over (I call Wednesday "True Weight Wednesday" becasue i have gotten rid of the excess JUNK from the weekend!)
