Personal:

I started running at age 40 (14 years ago!)  I am married to Harold, he is a super supportive husband and we enjoy running and biking the trails along the Wasatch Front together. Between us we have 7 children and 9 grandchildren.  I am really having fun trying new races in scenic parts of Utah, I am a newbie in the ultrarunning world, I am slow, but love everything about it!  I have a lot to learn,but I am enjoying the journey.

Ardie and I ran on the Porter Rockwell Trail this morning.  40 degrees is perfect for running.

Muscle-up and 3 treadmill miles.  I think I might do a lot of TM miles this winter, it keeps me honest on sticking with a decent pace.  

Just bought tickets to Hawaii in Feb to visit  my daughter and do the Aloha Run!!

Julie and I and some of the Poly relatives are trying Hot Hula tonight, it looks like a Polynesian version of Zumba.

Hot Hula last night was a blast!!!  I hope they start classes close to me or I will be driving across town to go!  Loved it!

It has been a bad week, almost lost Odee after he had an accident falling down the stairs, in fact we were at the vet's office ready to put him down and he came around and started to walk, so we brought him home and are trying to nurse him back to health.    

Any way 3 slow miles, with out any zip.

did a 3 mile run up to Bywater Park and back this afternoon, the weather cleared up and I needed some fresh air.

Tomorrow we head off to Mesquite for the half marathon.  Sure glad I signed up for the half and not the full!!!

We had a wonderful time in Mesquite, thanks to my awesome friends and family.  Ardie was there with her hubby, Laurel was there with her hubby ( from Orange County) and Gary and Ernie and last but not least my dear parents.  

We arrived Friday and picked up our bib numbers and tee shirts and visited with everyone.  Had fun gambling, playing the penny slots and stayed up late because Ernie had a hot machine and I could hardly break away from the excitement.   My parents took us out to dinner at Katherines at the Casablanca, that was probably the nicest pre-race meal I have ever had.  They spoil us rotten and are so much fun!

Ardie, Laurel, Stan and I got on the bus at 6:30am.  We huddled around in the wind for about a half hour before the race started.  We had horrible strong head winds the whole way, which made the race really difficult. I enjoyed running thru the desert, but hated the wind, good thing it wasn't too cold.  

I felt like I was working real hard, but moving like I was in slow motion, sometimes the wind would be so strong it would make my foot bump into my other foot and about trip me over.

The results have not been posted, but my garmin said 3 hours, but my distance showed 13.38, so I am hoping my time was 2:something, but whatever..... we had a great time, and I would do it again.

I enjoyed a soak in the mineral pools and a massage at Casablanca after the race, which was pure heaven.  After the massage, Harold and I went for a drive with my folks and then we had dinner at some divey Mexican Resturant that turned out to be fabulous ( or maybe I was just starving to death).

We drove home Sunday morning after checking out Sun River with my parents.  I want to move there when I grow up, what great place to retire. 

I will post my time when they post it on the website. I would recommend this race for a fun weekend in the sun in November.

5 miles at the Olympic Oval, planned on doing more, but went alone and got bored.

I decided to stop being so wimpy about the cold and ran up to Bywater Park and back, still only 2 miles, so I guess I am still a big woose.

Ardie, Jeff and I snowshoed around the park, we had about a foot of fresh snow so it was a good work out. 

In the afternoon, I did the treadmill.
