Personal:

I started running at age 40 (14 years ago!)  I am married to Harold, he is a super supportive husband and we enjoy running and biking the trails along the Wasatch Front together. Between us we have 7 children and 9 grandchildren.  I am really having fun trying new races in scenic parts of Utah, I am a newbie in the ultrarunning world, I am slow, but love everything about it!  I have a lot to learn, but I am enjoying the journey.

Ran the Wasatch Crest with Tracey  and two of his girlfriends.  We met at the park n ride at 6am and was up the canyon and running by 6:30ish, we wore headlamps  and got to the top of Puke hill in time to see the sunrise. Some of trail was covered with an inch or so of snow, the colors were so pretty.  I am sure that will be our last Crest run for the season.

My left ankle has bothered me since St. George, maybe I rolled it, not sure,  guess I better ice it.

It is so nice to be able to run with my son!!!!!

Sounds like a wonderful morning run! How nice it is to run with your son!! I'm not liking the mention of snow...

Sounds like a beautiful trail run w/ your son and his girlfriends. That is just too precious!

May be you should tape your ankle! Hope it recovers well! Can't wait to see you in 2 weeks.

I haven't been able to find any trail shoes my size in the running stores. Do you think I need the trail shoes at GV?

I feel so unprepared.

I have run trails in road shoes and it is okay, it is not a deal breaker, but trail shoes would be nice. If you do get a new pair make sure to put your road shoes in your drop bad in case they aren't broken in all the way. You will be fine either way! You are a tough little cookie!

My best sunrise of the year last year was up there. Excellent run Leslie.

Hi Scott! There is nothing like the Crest, it is magical, this time the clouds were hovering, we had snow, and we heard what we thought was a pack of wolves or coyote howling not too far away, it was so cool!!!

So cool. I love that place. That sounds like my kind of fun.
