Personal:

I started running at age 40 (14 years ago!)  I am married to Harold, he is a super supportive husband and we enjoy running and biking the trails along the Wasatch Front together. Between us we have 7 children and 9 grandchildren.  I am really having fun trying new races in scenic parts of Utah, I am a newbie in the ultrarunning world, I am slow, but love everything about it!  I have a lot to learn, but I am enjoying the journey.

I was happy to wake up to a loss of 3.4 pounds, of course that is the easy part,  the next 6.6 will be killer, but I feel real determined to do this.  I was going to take a tri class, but decided I would just get up at 5:30am on my own and work out, I have become real frugal lately and didn't want to pay for it.  I got up at 5:30 this morning and put on my new clip hed headlamp and took off for a run up to BCC and back and then came home and took Odee over to the pond for acouple of loops. I am going to spin this morning also.  I really liked going over to the gym last night, it was only for 20 min. but it keeps me focused on this mission and I am not as tempted to sit on the couch and eat chocolate covered pomegrante seeds!

Day #2  down 3.4  and 6.6 to go!

PM update, just got back from doing 20 min. on the stationary bike.

breakfast- green smoothie and 2 of my healthy cookies ( 79 calories each)

lunch- turkey speghetti and an apple

dinner-protein pancakes and scrambled eggs

In my book this is another great day!! My only fault is not enough water, I need to work on that.

mmmm...chocolate covered pomegranite seeds!! If you need help eating those I'd be happy to help :)

Nice job on the miles lady! PLUS spin...those pounds will be gone tomorrow. What is your plan for Saturday? I'm thinking about trying to organize a 11-12 miler on Porter Rockwell?

Rachel, I think I would be up for it. Harold would probably come along and roller blade, we did that acouple of weeks ago. LEt me know if you decide to do it, and I will be your sweeper!

Yay for joining the Sub-6 club. Way to get out there. 10 miles is monster. I'll say it again, you are going to be just fine and will crush your ultra.

Very nice workout today Leslie, and congrats on the news from the scale. I agree with Jun, you will be incredible at your race.

Thanks Jun and Scott, I am feeling more optimistic today than I have in awhile. I am thinking if all goes well, I may try Sapper Joe. I think I saw Juns name on the list, what about you Scott?

Leslie, I would love to do it! I just want some company on my long Saturday run, so I'm trying to recruit people willing to shuffle along with my slowness :) I'm thinking about 7AM - and I will have to PUSH to keep up with YOU!!!

3.4 miles in a DAY?!?! Dang! That is awesome. I wish I could do that. I am totally at a plateau and am very frustrated with it.

KP, the first day is easy, but we will see how I do from here!!! Thanks for noticing!
