Personal:

I started running at age 40 (14 years ago!)  I am married to Harold, he is a super supportive husband and we enjoy running and biking the trails along the Wasatch Front together. Between us we have 7 children and 9 grandchildren.  I am really having fun trying new races in scenic parts of Utah, I am a newbie in the ultrarunning world, I am slow, but love everything about it!  I have a lot to learn, but I am enjoying the journey.

I am back from my trip. I need to shift gears, and I am so not ready, thank goodness it is Friday and I have Sat. and Sun. to get my head on straight. I picked up the Eat Clean recipe book while in California and am really going to try doing my meals from that book.  It is what I have been searching for, a good recipe book with SIMPLE healthy ingredients.  I told Harold things are changing in this house, he can keep all his chips and cookies and ice cream, but the meals WILL be healthier.  I am on a mission to get ready for a strong 2010 race year.  My first race is the Red Mountain 50K April 24, I have time to do this up right, but I need to start TODAY!  To get to my 12 pound goal by my 55th birthday I need to drop 1.71 pounds a week.  It is a very reasonable goal!

I started my morning out with a 2 mile eliptical session, hopefully I can do something else today, but I am playing catch up in the salon.  Be patient with me, I am going to be rambling alot and talking myself into better nutrition and better workouts.

Ooooh, I like the sound of that recipe book! Hey, I'm almost at where I was before the holiday poundage. We're gonna make it, sister! I NEED to eat healthy. Weekends are my weakness!

Hope you have a nice day catching up in the salon. GOOD LUCK at Red Mountain and training plan!!!!

Nice to have you back Leslie. Good luck with all of your goals. You're going to have a fantastic 2010. I think I am going to shoot for the Pony Express 50 this year.

Smooth, I will let you know how I like the book. I wish I was back to pre-Holiday weight, I have been naughty. Are you going to do the Pony Express this year?

Scott, thanks! I hope you do it!!! The registration is open now!
