Personal:

I started running at age 40 (14 years ago!)  I am married to Harold, he is a super supportive husband and we enjoy running and biking the trails along the Wasatch Front together. Between us we have 7 children and 9 grandchildren.  I am really having fun trying new races in scenic parts of Utah, I am a newbie in the ultrarunning world, I am slow, but love everything about it!  I have a lot to learn, but I am enjoying the journey.

Okay, it has been one week of 2010, I did pretty darn good with my New Years Resolutions, but have decided I need to tweak them a bit.

Goal #1 and #2 will remain the same.

1- drink 100oz. of water a day

2-drink one green smoothie a day

#3 is changing, instead of 2 hours a day 6 days a week, I am changing it and giving myself the option of one hour of intense training or 2 hours of a moderate work out, I found myself not pushing very hard knowing I had to stay in the gym 2 hours. We will give this a try next week, I am thinking it will encourage me to really sweat and get the work out over with.   I need options and flexibility.

That is actually a cool change you are making, but what you are doing is really making your resolution more meaningful, instead of making it easier. Awesome.

I think that is great! We all need to be more flexible with ourselfs/schedules. That way we can accomplish out goals.

Thanks you guys, for not making me feel like a loser, I really do think it is positive adjustment to encourage me to put in more effort, that has always been my downfall, I am a very slow plodder, so this might give me more incentive to push!

I hope you guys are enjoying 2010! Thanks for your comments.

I LOVE your adjustment! Keep up the good work! Here's an article I found interesting. http://www.sciencenews.org/view/generic/id/48605/title/Junk_food_turns_rats_into_addicts
