Personal:

I started running at age 40 (14 years ago!)  I am married to Harold, he is a super supportive husband and we enjoy running and biking the trails along the Wasatch Front together. Between us we have 7 children and 9 grandchildren.  I am really having fun trying new races in scenic parts of Utah, I am a newbie in the ultrarunning world, I am slow, but love everything about it!  I have a lot to learn, but I am enjoying the journey.

Are you READY????? I am getting very excited, hopefully I can keep the stomach issues at bay, but if not, I will just make it for fun!!!

I never got any gaiters!!! Is there a store that sells them, I really do not want rocks in my shoes!

From leslie peterson on Wed, Oct 20, 2010 at 18:03:52 from 174.52.158.81

Kelli, I am not ready, but oh well, I will get thru it! My training has been horrid this summer.

I will bring an extra pair of dirty girls and some velcro, and if you want to wear them I will set you up! I have an aloha print one that is kind of fun. I am wearing a pair of pink and black animal print gaitors. We will be so fashionable!

Gators?!! I better look for my dirty girls! Thanks for the reminder!

I am so excited! The weather looks to be perfect. may have some T-storms probably in the afternoon though.

From leslie peterson on Wed, Oct 20, 2010 at 21:53:36 from 174.52.158.81

Smooth, there better not be thunderstorms, I am so afraid of lightening and thunder!!! Maybe it will make me go faster!! lol!

Yes, you make sure to bring your dirty girls!! We need to get a picture of all our gaitors!

From Kelli on Wed, Oct 20, 2010 at 22:00:21 from 71.219.65.246

So, you are going to bring me some gaiters or should I go get some???

Rain would be freaky!!!

From leslie peterson on Wed, Oct 20, 2010 at 22:03:27 from 174.52.158.81

Kelli, I will bring some, you can use them if you like, I have 3 pairs, so happy to share!

From Kelli on Wed, Oct 20, 2010 at 22:06:03 from 71.219.65.246

Okay, then I will not worry about buying any!

What time are you guys getting there???

From leslie peterson on Wed, Oct 20, 2010 at 22:08:00 from 174.52.158.81

not sure Kelli, hopefully around 1:00ish, but it depends on when Harold can get off work, how about you?

From Kelli on Wed, Oct 20, 2010 at 22:20:37 from 71.219.65.246

We have not decided yet. Wondering if we should let the kids go to half a day of school or not.

From Smooth on Thu, Oct 21, 2010 at 12:50:26 from 67.41.235.104

The forecast says 30% chance rain; but I think it's probably some harmless cloud-burst. But the cloud covering will be nice.

I don't know when we're leaving. Hubby is going to stop off at Price to visit a branch so we'll probably get there in the afternoon. Let's plan to have dinner together. I have Kelli's #. I'm going to PM you mine.

I've been thinking about you and Goblin Valley all week. I can't imagine what that kind of a race looks or feels like. Good luck and have a wonderful run!

From leslie peterson on Thu, Oct 21, 2010 at 13:05:40 from 174.52.158.81

Great plan!!! I guess you know we need to bring sleeping bags and pillows?

Did you buy a bottle of S-caps? If you have extra could I borrow a few? I am out and am not going to be able to get to the store before we leave.

The cloud cover will be nice and the storms are usually later in the day, it should be perfect!

PARTY!!!!
