Personal:

I started running at age 40 (14 years ago!)  I am married to Harold, he is a super supportive husband and we enjoy running and biking the trails along the Wasatch Front together. Between us we have 7 children and 9 grandchildren.  I am really having fun trying new races in scenic parts of Utah, I am a newbie in the ultrarunning world, I am slow, but love everything about it!  I have a lot to learn, but I am enjoying the journey.

I went to Muscle-Up this morning.  Yeah for me! I hate it, but it is so good for me.  Strength training is my missing link in my fitness routine that is for sure.  I am going to really try to get back on track and do it on a regular basis.

I took Odee for a walk over at the Old Mill Resivour ( sorry for the spelling)

7.8 from goal

Sounds like a really nice day! You are right, Muscle up is good for you :) You are going to see those pounds fly!!!

Yes, the muscle work will help you to burn more calories!! Good job.

Okay, I am trying to not get discouraged here. I am back to 6.4 pounds to my goal. So, I have a new philosophy. First, my old philosophy was eat whatever I wanted with no limits pretty much, and then just work out like crazy. The marathon training did that to me!! BUT, I was burning way more calories back then, so I could eat with reckless abandon. NO MORE, it is not working and I am working out too hard.

So, to the new philosophy: eat less and eat right (have treats, but only one a day and only ONE---not one whole pan or bag or whatever) AND work out less!! Now, not a ton less because I enjoy what I do, but I will not stress about fitting in so many workouts just to eat more!!!

Do you think that will work? Do you think I can do it? I just can not beat the bad eating out of me. There is so much good food and I have no self control!!!

That might explain why Odee was so pokey tonight. Once it got dark, he didn't want to leave my side and kept hogging my light on the trail.

Kelli, that sounds like a great plan! Lets keep each other motivated during the holidays! I think my plan is to eat healthy and do 2 hours of working out a day. You are so dedicated to working out. You look great though, it is kind of funny to me that you worry about those last few pounds, but then we all do, it is just the way we are. I am glad you are going to enjoy at least one treat a day, it is the season! oh, my lady is here, gotta go!
