Personal:

I started running at age 40 (14 years ago!)  I am married to Harold, he is a super supportive husband and we enjoy running and biking the trails along the Wasatch Front together. Between us we have 7 children and 9 grandchildren.  I am really having fun trying new races in scenic parts of Utah, I am a newbie in the ultrarunning world, I am slow, but love everything about it!  I have a lot to learn, but I am enjoying the journey.

This morning Harold and I got up early and picked up Maurine at 6:20 and took off to Lehi for the After Halloween 10 Miler with the bloggers.  It was  a great time!!  I agree with Kelli, we all need to move into the same neighborhood so we can do this daily!!  There is nothing more fun that meeting up with a bunch of running buddies and spending the morning together! It was fun to start in the dark and watch the sun come up. It was a beautiful morning. Hopefully Harold can figure out how to post some pictures.  Thanks Marion for organizing it, and thanks Kelli for the delicious muffins!!  It was great to meet you all!!!!

Harold just figured this photo thing out, here is my 70's picture!

YOU, TOO!!! See, I run to be social. I love people!!

From kungfublonde on Sat, Nov 01, 2008 at 14:14:31

Are you all anywhere near Riverton? Next time I vist my Aunt there, I need to come run with everyone! I'm still slow, but I can sure help with hot cocoa and muffins :) Plus I'm an expert socializer!

My new motivation for getting faster is just so I can run with all the cool people on the blog some day!

Leslie, so much fun meeting you. Funny thing is, even though it was pitch dark the second I heard your voice I knew it was you. Crazy!!

Everyone needs to get together more often!!

I love the pictures!! The one of you and your "sweetie" is especially great. Thanks for sharing :)

From Smooth on Sun, Nov 02, 2008 at 15:20:38

Leslie!!! You were (still are) such a BABE!!! Don't you wish we were back on the beach at Laie again this morning, it's SO COLD.

THANK YOU for taking and posting the pictures. Harold takes such nice pictures. He captured the mountains in the "sweetie" picture so well.

I NEED to run with you sometime...I want to get to know you better.

From leslie on Sun, Nov 02, 2008 at 17:04:36

Smooth, I would love to run with you anytime! I work out of my house so I am super flexible. Then we can talk about all the fun times we had in Laie!! I was Karen's bridesmaid. She is a runner, I have bumped into her acouple of times in St. George. Have you stayed in touch with her? This is so fun to have a BYU-HC connection!! Lets get a group together to do the Honolulu Marathon!!! I have such great ideas!!!!

I really need to run with you!!! have a great Sunday and I will talk to you soon.

Did you say you live in Lehi?

From Smooth on Sun, Nov 02, 2008 at 17:35:19

Leslie, that's right, Karen's a runner. Man, I'm getting old and forgetful. Actually I'm always forgetful. I have not stayed in touch with Karen. I'm glad you do.

Yes, we need to do the Honolulu Marathon. My sister's house is on the marathon route. I was in Hawaii this May and ran up and around Diamond Head a few times.

Yes, I live in Lehi by Micron. We need to get together for a run.

From leslie on Sun, Nov 02, 2008 at 17:49:35

Yes! We need to get together!

Did you know Carolyn Kwok? She was also a roommate of mine.

From Smooth on Sun, Nov 02, 2008 at 18:04:53

Of course I know Carolyn. She's from my home branch in Hong Kong. We sang in choirs together. She's still not married. The last time I saw her was in Hong Kong May 2005. She's director of some "megabrain institute"...one brilliant girl. Do you keep in touch with any BYU-H friends?

From leslie on Sun, Nov 02, 2008 at 18:48:10

Wow! Carolyn was a funny gal. That is interesting that she never married. I do keep in touch with a few friends. My best friend is Ann Alisa she is married to Mataumu Alisa who teaches art at BYU-HC, did you know her or Matt? How about you, have you kept in touch?

From Kelli on Sun, Nov 02, 2008 at 21:57:09

Well, I think if you two decide to run a marathon in Honolulu we should ALL get to come!!

It is such a small world! That is too cool that you two found each other this way!!
