Personal:

I started running at age 40 (14 years ago!)  I am married to Harold, he is a super supportive husband and we enjoy running and biking the trails along the Wasatch Front together. Between us we have 7 children and 9 grandchildren.  I am really having fun trying new races in scenic parts of Utah, I am a newbie in the ultrarunning world, I am slow, but love everything about it!  I have a lot to learn, but I am enjoying the journey.

Today is a rest day!  I am still feeling the marathon, this is a very slow recovery for me.  The last 3 years my recovery from marathon has been really quick and painless.  My game plan between today and St. George is to just walk this week. Hopefully Sat. I will feel like a  5 or 6 mile easy run, and then I will see how I feel next week and go from there.  If anyone has any specific ideas for running 2 marathons back to back and hurting like the dickens after the first one, I would appreciate any suggestions!!  I plan to ice some...... any other ideas?

I feel your pain - literally. I'm just grateful I'm not doing another marathon in 2 weeks. There is no way I could do it. I am hoping I could possibly be to the point to do a 5 miler with you by Sat. At this point it seems impossible.

Lisa, I will talk to you Friday and see how you are doing. I am hoping a slow run by then will feel good. Keep icing girl!!!

Ice ice baby! My only advise is DONT RUN TWO MARATHONS BACK TO BACK :D Bike? Swim? Vitamin I? Drink tons of water!!! Hey- get a massage or two?

Come over and use my styrofoam roller and see if it helps you.

Maybe an ice bath every couple of days?
