Personal:

I started running at age 40 (14 years ago!)  I am married to Harold, he is a super supportive husband and we enjoy running and biking the trails along the Wasatch Front together. Between us we have 7 children and 9 grandchildren.  I am really having fun trying new races in scenic parts of Utah, I am a newbie in the ultrarunning world, I am slow, but love everything about it!  I have a lot to learn, but I am enjoying the journey.

Did a  5:30 am run with the chicks, they are getting so fast!  I can barely keep up with them, they are carrying on conversations and I am panting in the back. Oh, to be young again!  It is good for me. The chicks, Jen, Desiree and Lisa are all doing their first marathon sat (TOU)they are nervous, I guess that is to be expected, but they are so ready, they will do great and have a nice finish.  I on the other hand will send my chicks along and then moosey on down the road at a very slow pace to save my heels for St. George.  It will so much fun to hang out the night before and do the expo and the pasta dinner and then ride the bus to the start line in the morning. I think they will all break 5 hours, I willl be happy with anything, a finish would be nice!

Sounds like Lisa is up for Painters, I forgot to check with the other chicks!

You know, I can so relate to running with faster women. There are weekends when I'm hanging on by my toenails and the rest of them are chatting away.

I hope you have a good time at the St. George race.

You ROCK! I just can't wrap my mind around two marathons in a row! You are unreal! WOW! I am SO glad that your heels are doing great. You actually make a marathon sound like fun :D

It is fun! The whole experience, the expo and dinner and thenthe event, there is a lot of positive energy and happy people. And then there is of course, the guilt free meal after!!!

Hey, I just got me some Birks! My first pair ever!. I got the thong type too. I look so sexy!!

Yeah! My husband & I love to call them "thongs." My kids just cringe :D How do they feel? They are kind of stiff at first, but you really meld into them :) Welcome to the Granola Girls club!

They are stiff, they are not as cushy as my fit flops, but I am sure they will mold to my feet and work out great. Yeah, mom in a thong... that would gross out any kid!! Don't you just love it?!!

They are much more stiff than the fit flop. You'll get used to it. It took me a few days to get uesd to my new pair and now I hate to go bare feet, except it is such a habbit to take off my shoes ;)
