Personal:

I started running at age 40 (14 years ago!)  I am married to Harold, he is a super supportive husband and we enjoy running and biking the trails along the Wasatch Front together. Between us we have 7 children and 9 grandchildren.  I am really having fun trying new races in scenic parts of Utah, I am a newbie in the ultrarunning world, I am slow, but love everything about it!  I have a lot to learn, but I am enjoying the journey.

I am still recovering from doing the Ogden Marathon May 17 and the Red Mountain 50k on May 24.

My husband Harold and I went for a 5 mile walk from my parents beach house in San Juan Capistrano to Dana Point with my father,  Owen Olpin and did a little bird watching a long the way, we identified 14 birds on our walk.

I am feeling pretty good, but plan to walk for the next few days and enjoy the beach and start running when I get back to SLC on Wed.

I hope your recovery goes well! I heard that Goblin 50k was cancelled last year. Do you know if it is forever or a temporary hiatus? Good luck with your running and welcome to the blog.

You did both Ogden and the 50K! Great job. Hope your recovery goes well, and welcome to the blog.

My husband runs with me but is out on the injured list and I would love to run with someone who doesn't run twice as fast as me.

Helen Klein was beautiful but had a lot of hills at the end, it is also a 50 miler, but I did just the 50k, there is a 30k also. Food was pretty good at the end and they give framed awards to the first place finishers. Also you really need to stay on the side, it is a popular biking trail and they didn't like all those runners out there that day.

I'm going to Sacramento tomorrow to visit my parents. I need to still get 22 miles in there that will be tough but doable.
