Personal:

I started running at age 40 (14 years ago!)  I am married to Harold, he is a super supportive husband and we enjoy running and biking the trails along the Wasatch Front together. Between us we have 7 children and 9 grandchildren.  I am really having fun trying new races in scenic parts of Utah, I am a newbie in the ultrarunning world, I am slow, but love everything about it!  I have a lot to learn,but I am enjoying the journey.

Hey, do you just stay in St George when you do the Red Mountain 50k?? We are bringing the entire family and it is Spring Break, so I was thinking I better get on reserving something for us to stay in!

Kelli, yes, we stay at my cousins in St. George, it isn't a very long drive to Ivans. I don't feel like I am ready for this, but my son signed up, so I will be there. He is as slow as me and it is his first ultra, I am afraid of the very thought of it.

Oh, Kelli, I started WW. I am 7 pounds heavier than my highest weight last year! How did this happen? I think I need to pay close attention to portions. I have 3 1/2 months to get myself in shape. I need to lose 13 pounds to have a healthy BMI, urggg!

I read the WW reply after, sorry! When did you start? i DO NOT like the new program so far. I followed it religiously for a week and gained 4 pounds, I was so frustrated. BUT, I am back at it tomorrow because I have gorged myself for the last two weeks. I have not even gotten on a scale, I do not want to know. BUT I need to get back in to WW to weigh in for January, so I need to get the weight down before I go. LUCKILY I have until the end of the month. I will have to buy all of their new books and calculators and stuff, I hate that they changed it up that much!

KEEP ME UPDATED on how you do, I know you will do well. When you put your mind to something, you do it!

Kelli, I just spent 2 hours reading all the material and figuring out the e-tools tracking system. I think it is going to be fairly easy to stick to, but we will see. I like that fruits and veggies are zero points. This should keep me honest and put an end to my mindless grazing. I will keep you updated!

4 pounds is nothing!!! But on the other hand it is good to nip it in the bud before it turns to 8 pounds, those slippery little suckers sneak up on you fast!! haha!

Kelli, I actually went to my first meeting today, I didn't want to wait until Thur., however Thur. will be my regular meeting.

I like Thursdays as my official weigh in day! It seems to be the day I weigh the least. This week I refuse to even step on a scale until then!

The new program is pretty straight forward, it just made me gain weight!!! ARGHHH.
