Personal:

I started running at age 40 (14 years ago!)  I am married to Harold, he is a super supportive husband and we enjoy running and biking the trails along the Wasatch Front together. Between us we have 7 children and 9 grandchildren.  I am really having fun trying new races in scenic parts of Utah, I am a newbie in the ultrarunning world, I am slow, but love everything about it!  I have a lot to learn, but I am enjoying the journey.

I am glad you are resting you HEELS! I am being such a good injured runner! You'd be so proud of me!

We have got the fundraiser on the calendar. We will be there! I ould help you with the 5k stuff. Get T-shirts donated or something? Let me know, I'm a very good planner. You could really raise a lot of money with the 5k. My girls could make tie dyed t shirts. Let me know. We would love to help.

Rest, rest, rest!

Have you decided to see a doctor yet on those heels?

From leslie on Wed, Aug 06, 2008 at 16:58:49

The heels are okay, but need a break, I am trying to listen to my body and treat it better. Thanks Marion for your offer to help, Julie works for a design co. so we think they will help hook us up with shirts, I doubt I will do a 5k the day of the party, but do you think we could maybe do a fake 5k with tee shirts and have it not cost much? Do you think we could organize a bloggers RUN FOR PAUL 5k?? Just an idea.... I am not a good organizer, but if we had a few bloggers show up, it could be FUN!!! We could come down your way, and do a canyon run, all wear our garmins.... I am just thinking that does sound fun. Maybe after St. George before it gets too cold. We would have to do it when Maurine is around, she was my inspiration to get this whole thing going and we would have to have her help and support. It sounds like a real possibility even if just a few people came and ran. I would buy treats!!! It sounds like a real party!!! Okay, I am really excited!!

Hope you are icing those heels, Les! Thanks for letting me catch up today.

Do you want me to see if Striders has some old race shirts they would donate for the raffle?

From leslie on Thu, Aug 07, 2008 at 00:50:57

Yeah! That would be great! Running shirts, or anything! I am writting from the hospital, I am staying the night so Julie can get some rest.

From marion on Thu, Aug 07, 2008 at 11:36:40

Alright! You have to go to the doctor! I am pretending to be Michelle, "you HAVE to go to the Doc!" Come down and see Dr Brady. He beat the CRAP out of me, but I was better asap. PLEASE go to the doc about your heels! PLEASE PLEASE PLEAASE!!!!!

From leslie on Thu, Aug 07, 2008 at 11:46:24

Okay, if I go to the doctor, I will go see Dr. Brady, but I am not to that point yet. I am taking another day off today, I stayed at the hospital last night and so I am sleep deprived. I can hardly think straight right now, the heels seem like a minor issue at the moment, but it is nice to know of a good sports doctor and I am sure I will go see him at some point if this continues. Thanks Marion for the nudge! So, I need to go check out your blog and see if you made it on your run. Good luck!!!
