Personal:

I started running at age 40 (14 years ago!)  I am married to Harold, he is a super supportive husband and we enjoy running and biking the trails along the Wasatch Front together. Between us we have 7 children and 9 grandchildren.  I am really having fun trying new races in scenic parts of Utah, I am a newbie in the ultrarunning world, I am slow, but love everything about it!  I have a lot to learn, but I am enjoying the journey.

This morning I woke up to AGAIN some very sore heels, the thought of  running on a trail sounded too brutal, so I took Odee for a 1/2 mile walk on a trail, even after the 1/2 mile walk it was sore, I thought I might be able to walk it off, but no such luck. So..... today I am calling the doctor and seeing if she will refer me to someone that might help me get rid of this.

I hope you all have a nice morning run, I will have to live thru yours!  Have a great day!

PS  I went to a store called Chandlers, the owner is a PT.  He works with a lot of runners. He looked at my feet and gave me some exersizes to do and a better pair of insoles.  He told me to take 200mg of Ibprofen (or however you spell it) 3 times a day for a few days for the inflamation and to do some specific exersizes he showed me.  He did not tell me to stay off my feet, just to keep my mileage low for a few weeks and see how it goes.  I had made an appt. to see my doctor and see if she would refer me to a specialist, but I am going to cancel that and go with the PT for now.  I can always try the doctor if this doesn't work.  Wish me luck.  I need my feet to work, I have about 4 weeks to go!

CRAP!!!! (about the heels!) There has got to be a good sports med doc up there! Get better and hand in there! :D

Sorry to hear about the heels. Unfortunately, from what I've read, it is going to take some total layoff of running to get it healed.

I hope the information and exercises from the PT help you out. Cross train - ride that bike, swim, ride Odee....

Ride Odee..., yeah, ridem' Cowboy! Yeehaaa! Hey, they opened the registration for the OV, I think I am going to have to be your pacer, that sounds fun, I will be fresh and I can torment you!

I'll accept your kind offer. Kevin also said he will pace me - but I told him it has to be at MY pace - not his.

Leslie, I'm glad you're getting some help. I still think you should go to a doctor.
