Personal:

I started running at age 40 (14 years ago!)  I am married to Harold, he is a super supportive husband and we enjoy running and biking the trails along the Wasatch Front together. Between us we have 7 children and 9 grandchildren.  I am really having fun trying new races in scenic parts of Utah, I am a newbie in the ultrarunning world, I am slow, but love everything about it!  I have a lot to learn, but I am enjoying the journey.

This morning I woke up feeling MUCH better!  But, it was dark outside and so cozy in my bed, that I slept in,  it feels good to pamper myself a bit inbetween marathons. I am going to go to Provo to walk with my friend Ann and will come back and post the miles.

Maurine has decided not to do the OV50 miler, so I am going to back out as well. I have been stressing over it all summer, but thought if Maurine was going to attempt it I would too, but now there is no reason to do it.  Maybe next year.... maybe never.... who knows?  I have enjoyed doing 50ks and plan on doing the Red Mountain 50k again next April in St. George.  I think that has been my all time favorite run ever. Great people organizing  it, super friendly, awesome course, beautiful scenery.

Have a great day!

Ann and I did a 4 mile walk up the Provo River Parkway, nice weather and great company!

I love doing 50ks. You should do Goblin Valley 50k in Nov. It is an awesome run. Slot cannyons and sand, how could you go wrong?

Great plan Leslie :) I am so glad you were smarter than I was and stayed in bed! Cozy and warm. I think I am going to plug the electric blanket back in here pretty soon!

Chris, I actually did Goblin Valley the same year you did! I loved it, I have been so focused on the OV50 I forgot about that, I might have to consider doing it, what about you and Laurie? Tell Laurie I really miss her blogging, she is always so much fun. Thanks for mentioning Goblin.

Are we still planning a run for friday? I sure could use some company, some motivation, some stress reliever, and a good run.

Hello Laurie!!! Can you join Maurine and I for a Sat. morning run and breakfast?? We were thinking about hiking to Desolation Lake and running down, it would be about 6 miles or so.
