Personal:

I started running at age 40 (14 years ago!)  I am married to Harold, he is a super supportive husband and we enjoy running and biking the trails along the Wasatch Front together. Between us we have 7 children and 9 grandchildren.  I am really having fun trying new races in scenic parts of Utah, I am a newbie in the ultrarunning world, I am slow, but love everything about it!  I have a lot to learn, but I am enjoying the journey.

Okay, I need to get clear on my goals for next week, and so I thought I would write them down for the whole blogging world to see!!

#1  NO DIET COKE, not one little tiny sip!

#2  Swim 4 times this week

#3 NO running on pavement

#4 at least one trail run with Maurine

# 5 ICE ICE BABY on my poor heels

This shouldn't be a difficult week to get right!  No mileage goals!  I CAN DO THIS!!!!

More word from Kristine. She did stop running for 3 weeks to rehab. She biked, swam and eliptical'd. She massaged the CRAP out of it morning noon and night. Ice too. She said it was SUPER painful to rub out. She did the stretches too. She does use inserts too.

The thing I learned from my recent experience with injury. GO TO THE DOC ASAP. I would not be sitting Hobble Creek out if I had gone to the doc ASAP. I don't know if Dr Brady treats PF (375-2420) BUT (and this is a BIG butt ;) If his magic can get you better ASAP, It would be SO worth the drive and the $$$. I am just kicking myself!!!!

My pitiful 2 cents ;)

How is Paul? How is your daughter? How are you handleing this all?

Thanks Marion for the tips! I am encouraged by your sister-in-laws recovery and am going to be dilligent in doing all the things I should do! I am going to give it a few days before going to the doc, that may be dumb, but I feel like I have alot of things I can try first. THANK YOU!!!!!! I will keep you posted.

Paul is doing okay, it will be a LOOOONG road. I will be spending my lunch hour with him on week days, in between his therapy sessions so Julie can work. Thanks for asking!

Is Pauls family close too? Stroke is such a cruel event. Is Julies job flexable?
