Personal:

I started running at age 40 (14 years ago!)  I am married to Harold, he is a super supportive husband and we enjoy running and biking the trails along the Wasatch Front together. Between us we have 7 children and 9 grandchildren.  I am really having fun trying new races in scenic parts of Utah, I am a newbie in the ultrarunning world, I am slow, but love everything about it!  I have a lot to learn, but I am enjoying the journey.

I did my 4 mile loop, the heels were tender, I was one minute slower today.  It took 47 min.  I need to do more cross training....   I need another hour or more of exersize.  I am trying to figure out how all you young moms get so many hours in  a day.  I think I need to get up earlier and stop being such a whimp!

Nutrition was good yesterday.

9.8 lbs away from my goal! (2.4 lb. loss from yesterday)

Good job! 2 days in a row. Watch those heels! You don't want to injure them any more than they already are.

Keep up the nutrition (I dropped 3.2 lbs. yesterday)

You BIG LOSERS!!! I am NOT the biggest loser! I eat like a 400 pound truck driver. NO MORE!!!

Take your hunny bunches for a bike ride at night. (pretend you like it ;)

Marion, hahaha! You look like a hot volleyball player!!!! Tall and strong and BEAUTIFUL!!!!

From lisa on Tue, Oct 07, 2008 at 11:50:54

What is your 4 mile loop? Good job on getting out there right after the marathon. And great job on the continuous running.

Lisa, my garmin is broken, so I am guessing.... from my house, and then along the CHRC 5k route just past Winsap and then down. I feel lost without my garmin, we need to send it in and get it fixed. I was going to go to muscle up, but I just couldn't drag myself there, I know I need to but I really hate it, I am have a bad attitude. You are more dedicated than I. Do you want to do the Breast Cancer run at Liberty Park with Maurine and I? Marion is doing it and I think there are others from the blog. I could pick you up, and any of the other chicks that are interested. Let me know. It starts at 9.

That is a ton of weight in one day. Why can't I do that? Great job!!!

Leslie you are doing great out there after such a crummy Saturday! Way to go!

From leslie on Tue, Oct 07, 2008 at 18:32:16

Thanks Kelli, I am not being quite so good today, I am just hoping to hang on to my little loss! I went and bought a spinach salad from Riches Bagels for dinner tonight. Yum!! You are too tiny for a 2 pound drop in one day, silly!!

From britta on Tue, Oct 07, 2008 at 20:08:57

I am looking forward to the day that my husband and I have more time to train together. That is great you and your husband are so active.

I was talking to a guy at my daughter;s soccer game last night and he said that it is totally normal to gain weight when you run a race and then drop it all a few days later. He was trying to explain it all to me, but I zoned out! I do not care about the science behind it, I was just glad to know there is a reason for it!!! Now, I was not so good---we went to Panda Express for dinner and ate orange chicken, chow mein, and egg rolls!! Nummy, but naughty!

From Kelli on Wed, Oct 08, 2008 at 13:09:35

Hey Britta----I am with you on that one! I can not wait until we can just go and run and not worry about getting kids to this practice or that game or a lesson or a church thing or whatever! But we will miss them, right Leslie???

From Marion on Wed, Oct 08, 2008 at 13:12:41

I am going to cry like a baby when they are gone... and then I am going to clean the house and it is going to stay that way. I am also going to do 2-4 loads of laundry a week and laught (to myself) at my girls doing 2-4 per day!! :) AND... I am going to run whenever it is I wake up and go to yoga classes at odd times during the day. And then I will cry myself to sleep missing my babies!

From Kelli on Wed, Oct 08, 2008 at 13:33:15

I do not know if I will cry like a baby, but I will miss them some of the time! But, oh the FREEDOM!!!!

From leslie on Wed, Oct 08, 2008 at 14:55:18

Girls, the empty nest is a beautiful thing, if I miss my kids I have come over for Sunday dinner or call them, I don't miss "hands on parenting", this is a great time of life to be a little selfish!!!
