Personal:

I started running at age 40 (14 years ago!)  I am married to Harold, he is a super supportive husband and we enjoy running and biking the trails along the Wasatch Front together. Between us we have 7 children and 9 grandchildren.  I am really having fun trying new races in scenic parts of Utah, I am a newbie in the ultrarunning world, I am slow, but love everything about it!  I have a lot to learn, but I am enjoying the journey.

Harold thought I was crazy this morning, he asked if I was going over to the gym to work out and I said, "No way!  I'm hitting the road!"  It was 22 degrees when I went out, pretty nippy!  I had to wear my yaxtrax, there was lots of black ice, so I ran very cautiously, I can still slip in my yaxtrax, but they do help a lot.

I am worried about a new little pain in my foot, I have noticed it for acouple of weeks, but am always afraid to give it a voice for fear it will give it more power. But it goes around my heel and along side my foot.  I still have PF( this is all on my left foot).  I can usually run thru the pain pretty well, but it bothers me all day, especially when I get up from sitting.  I have been told I have worn down the pads on my feet, due to age and running for so many years, I wonder if I have done something to the bone.  Oh, well, if it continues I will get it checked out.

Good job on the running. Better get that ankle checked out. Are you still icing and stretching?

Way to tough it out in the cold and on sore foot. Do you have a good podiatrist? Take good care of your foot. You have many many more years of running yet.

Oh, the pains and joys of running! Why do we do it, honestly?!?

You go girl for heading out in the cold! I am so impressed. It is so dang windy and freezing!!!! I just do not know how much longer I can do it---minus the wind it would be okay!

Get that foot better so we can see you soon!
