Personal:

I started running at age 40 (14 years ago!)  I am married to Harold, he is a super supportive husband and we enjoy running and biking the trails along the Wasatch Front together. Between us we have 7 children and 9 grandchildren.  I am really having fun trying new races in scenic parts of Utah, I am a newbie in the ultrarunning world, I am slow, but love everything about it!  I have a lot to learn, but I am enjoying the journey.

Wow! It is spring finally! I started running from my house and ran to the mouth of Little Cottonwood Canyon, 3 miles on road and 2 miles on trails. When I got to the big road condition sign I saw another runner, and I asked him if he had just gotten off the Little Cottonwood trail and he said yes and that it was clear of snow so I decided to give it a try. It was completely dry to the first bridge and then only about 30% clear to the second bridge. I was trudging in almost a foot of snow, so I turned around at that point. I had to smother myself in sunscreen it was so warm. FABULOUS!

Yahoo ... sunscreen time!!

Nice run Leslie!

Great job, Leslie. Thanks for calling (twice) while I was at work to rub in that you were outside enjoying yourself. I'm looking forward to hitting the trails with you.

Do you want to run Wheeler Farm one morning at 5:30 this week?

From leslie on Mon, Apr 20, 2009 at 20:35:39 from 76.23.61.78

Yes! What about Wed. or Friday?

From leslie on Mon, Apr 20, 2009 at 20:37:29 from 76.23.61.78

Teena, it is always a plus if it is a sunscreen day!!! How is your fracture? I haven't heard anything lately, hope you are better. Do you have a race on the calendar for this season?

From Teena on Mon, Apr 20, 2009 at 20:40:43 from 67.177.20.13

My fracture is not healing like I thought it would. Either I shouldn't have ran the few miles I did this month or something else is going on. It is so frustrating but I am hanging in there and feel positive that I will be ready to hit it hard at the SGM.

I am registered for the Ogden Full but will definitely not be running it.

Thanks for asking. You are so thoughtful.

How about Friday morning? My Michigan visitors from work will be gone by then.

From Kelli on Mon, Apr 20, 2009 at 21:20:33 from 71.219.84.84

Sunscreen and snow all in one day! That could only happen in Utah! GREAT JOB!

From leslie on Mon, Apr 20, 2009 at 21:40:58 from 76.23.61.78

Teena, I am sorry to hear that things aren't right yet, but glad to here you will be ready for the SGM!!!! Heal fast!!

Maurine, Friday works great, I will double check with you on Thur. and make sure it is still on.

Kelli, yes, only in Utah! I am thinking two weeks max and the trail will be dry, I hope anyway!

Now off to watch 24!!! My TV highlight of the week!
