Personal:

I started running at age 40 (14 years ago!)  I am married to Harold, he is a super supportive husband and we enjoy running and biking the trails along the Wasatch Front together. Between us we have 7 children and 9 grandchildren.  I am really having fun trying new races in scenic parts of Utah, I am a newbie in the ultrarunning world, I am slow, but love everything about it!  I have a lot to learn, but I am enjoying the journey.

Almost had to cancel my run, I have a super busy day after taking off last week. I eeked out shortie today.

Harold and I are going to start biking in the evening, so I will come back with those miles later.

Have a healthy week!

Good job forcing the run in. Keep up the good work.

I have articles for you that I will drop by today or tomorrow.

Glad you're out and about. Don't overdo, we want you to stay healthy!

I did check with the marathon plan and the Wed run is at marathon pace. According to my 5k time, my marathon time is 11mm. I am going to run the wed runs at that pace as the schedule prescribes. Hey- does Harold know where to get a big bike for David that is CHEEP! He is not going to be a major bike rider (3-5 hours a week). We are fine with the cheep-o walmart bikes, but they are not big enough for him. does anyone sell them used?

From Kelli on Mon, Mar 16, 2009 at 21:16:25 from 71.219.76.202

You have a great week too!!!! How are you feeling? All better?

From leslie on Mon, Mar 16, 2009 at 21:32:42 from 76.23.61.78

Maurine, get well quick, call me if you need anything, and I can run it over.

Smooth, I am feeling much better and am ready to get back in the grove.

Marion, an 11mm sounds perfect to me, you may have me on your tail the whole time! There is a little shop by my house, they sell used bikes, I will check it out tomorrow and let you know if they have anything.

Kelli, All better except alittle bit of a rattle in the chest, how about you? Glad you and Smooth had nice run together. I hope you all kick some serious butt in Riverton!

I don't know if I can do the 11 mm in the marathon, but I am going to do it on Wednesdays ;) I will try it in both of my halves coming up, even though Sasha and Michelle say I can do 10's. I think they may be VO2 max deprived ;) Truth be told, I'd be thrilled with 12 mm for the marathon :D

From leslie on Mon, Mar 16, 2009 at 23:12:12 from 76.23.61.78

Marion, I agree, a 12 mm for your first is great, I think it is best to not go full out and feel good at the end. I think you have the right idea to take it slow and enjoy it, and have a little juice left for a strong finish.

From Marion on Mon, Mar 16, 2009 at 23:19:28 from 71.219.49.37

(I am predicting a 12-13mm finish)

What are you doing awake? ;)

From tarzan on Tue, Mar 17, 2009 at 09:39:09 from 63.255.172.2

Where are those biking miles - biker girl?

From leslie on Tue, Mar 17, 2009 at 10:12:04 from 76.23.61.78

Marion, What are you doing awake? I just got back from muscle-up, I am going to do yoga at 10:30, I am trying to decide if I should do Zumba at 9:30. How tall is Dave? I will check on a bike for him this afternoon.

Maurine, we pooped out on the biking. How are you feeling this morning?

From Maurine/Tarzan on Tue, Mar 17, 2009 at 10:17:37 from 63.255.172.2

I'm feeling fine. Thanks for asking. As an 'athlete' I tend to recover pretty quickly (knock on wood).

From Marion on Tue, Mar 17, 2009 at 10:18:09 from 71.219.49.37

Seriously- what am I doing awake ;) I have finally gotten used to the time change ;) David is 6'1" Thanks for looking for me. I can call them too. You're the BEST :)

From Marion on Tue, Mar 17, 2009 at 14:12:15 from 71.219.49.37

Oh- btw, on a scale of 1-10. Put Painters, Hobble Creek, Ogden and Riverton, actually any 1/2's you have run. I need some idea of what to gear up for ;) (I am posting this same question on many other runners blogs too)

From leslie on Tue, Mar 17, 2009 at 15:13:28 from 76.23.61.78

Marion, okay here is my answer-

I would rate Ogden #1 ( #1 being the best) Hobble Creek #2 and Painters #3 and of course I have not done Riverton. Painters was the hardest, but super fun, mostly because of the great company. I prefer downhill running that is why I liked Ogden and

Hobblecreek so much. They are all awesome!!

I am going to enter my blog for the day and then check on a bike at my little neighborhood bike shop and then get a pedicure, I am thinking green!! I put on some self tanning lotion and am wearing capris and am feeling the love!!!! It is gorgous outside!
