Personal:

I started running at age 40 (14 years ago!)  I am married to Harold, he is a super supportive husband and we enjoy running and biking the trails along the Wasatch Front together. Between us we have 7 children and 9 grandchildren.  I am really having fun trying new races in scenic parts of Utah, I am a newbie in the ultrarunning world, I am slow, but love everything about it!  I have a lot to learn, but I am enjoying the journey.

Two Extremely wimpy miles. I am sore from head to toe ( maybe my weight training) achy back and arms.  I think I am still recovering from my speed work, legs aren't quite right.  I am not sure what to do tomorrow, run or take a break.  I have been on my feet all day doing hair, feel plain ol' tuckered out.  It is off to the couch with a hot pad to relax.

Everyone enjoy your weekend, those of  you in Lehi and the Provo 5K!

Take a BREAK!!! I have unofficially made Friday into a day off. With Scott home, we just never seem to want to do more than clean, grocery shop, volunteer at the school, and hang out together. I like taking Friday off! AND, coming from a teacher who used to stand on her feet all day, it takes a toll!!!

To answer your question from yesterday's blog---I have actually stayed below my goal weight for all of 2008. I Made lifetime in April of 2007, went 5 pounds above lifetime for the winter of 2007, but then got back on track. HOWEVER, I made my lifetime goal very easy!!! I did not want to have to pay the money for more weight loss even though my goal is 14 pounds below that! Twice this year I have gotten within 2 pounds of MY goal weight, but then I blow it. And continually blow it the harder I try. So, I figured I am not going to try anymore and see if that will work for me!! I currently have 11 pounds to lose (can you believe I have been that bad since Dec 20th, when I was within 2 pounds??? NUTS.)

We will do this, but stressing over it for me is just making it worse. I think winter is just my time to get fluffy so I can stay warm or something!

Have a great weekend!

Leslie, you need a massage, a nice soothing bath, candle light dinner and a chick flick afterward. Pamper yourself this evening. If you feel like running in the morning, then do, if not, no biggie. You're a hard working woman. Hmmm, I need a hair cut BAD.

Kelli, we all get fluffy during winter. It will all melt away come Spring. You just wait and see.

Kelli and Smooth, you girls made my day! I got my hot rice pads out and layed on my couch and watched TV and then my Harold came home and we went and got a fish taco at Lone Star and now I am going to snuggle up and watch all the Thurs. night comedies we Tivoed and chill. I will wait and see how I feel tomorrow and decide what to do, it feels good to know I don't have a concrete plan and can wing it. Thanks for the permission to take a break.

Kelli that is interesting about WW. I wish I had done what you did, last year I got within the healthy range and could have made a goal, but I was stubborn and didn't, I wanted to reach MY goal, but I got sick of paying each month for all my lousy weigh ins and dropped out. I think your relaxed approach about the whole thing could work, sometimes the more we think about it, the worse it is. I know I have alittle bit of a rebel in me.

Hey, you guys have fun tomorrow, I hope you can beat the storm! Thanks for your always fun and upbeat notes to me! You guys are the BEST!!!!

Kelli, I got within 2 pounds of my goal twice last year too, and I am now 9 pounds away. Ugh. We will do this!!!! You do not look like you need to lose 11 pounds, you would be a size 0.
