Personal:

I started running at age 40 (14 years ago!)  I am married to Harold, he is a super supportive husband and we enjoy running and biking the trails along the Wasatch Front together. Between us we have 7 children and 9 grandchildren.  I am really having fun trying new races in scenic parts of Utah, I am a newbie in the ultrarunning world, I am slow, but love everything about it!  I have a lot to learn, but I am enjoying the journey.

This morning I ran with the girls, we did a 10min run/1 min walk. It felt like hard work, I think having the scale go up this morning was playing tricks with my head!  I really need to work on following my weight watchers routine on the weekends, all those Father's Day treats were devine yesterday, but now I am paying the price!

OOPHS!  I noticed after reading Maurines note that I wrote this entry on the Sunday slot, but I ran it today- Monday. I will see if I can fix this

Oh my gosh honey- do I feel your pain! Why can't we just have watermelon and grilled chicken breast with a nice light green salad? Why oh why? I am eating only fresh fruits and vegies today! I feel like a total water-logged swollen slob after our feast yeasterday (pork ribs, potato salad, pasta salad, ceazar salad, baked beans, and 2 kinds of my FAVORITE cake) My family is SO not WW friendly! And I am weak, so very weak!

Oh no! Here comes the WW leader in me, watch out! "This is what today is for... REPENTANCE (ok a little sunday school teacher snuck in). No more holidays until the 4th of July. We can focus and make some awesome food choices"

She's gone now... phew! Hang in there Leslie! We're all with you girl!

Thanks! Okay, I am with you today, total repentance!! I am turning a new leaf!!! I can do this!!!! Congrats again on a fast run, I am really looking forward to my half marathon next month. I would love to keep my pace around an 11 min. mile, that would be great. Do you have a marathon after you do Hobblecreek?

Thanks again Marion! I will read your challange for last week again for inspiration!!

Glad you had a good run yesterday. Just focus on eating healthy and slowing down eating and you will do fine.

How far did you guys make it on your run today?

And I had to laugh so hard when I read your comments(you too Marion) because I basically said the exact same things to my husband yesterday. We made cookies for the nursery for snacks and to take home to dad but......that is pretty much all we snacked on yesterday. Terrible I know(and I don't know how that last pound I lost came off) but I too am going to be better!

It looks like Marion and I weren't alone in our celebrational weekend!! One my running gals said she was up 4 pounds! It's nice to know I am not alone! Oh, well Laurie, we just have to run longer and eat better, we will get there!!!! Oh, I fouled up on my running log, I did Zero Sunday, and 5 miles this morning.
