Personal:

I started running at age 40 (14 years ago!)  I am married to Harold, he is a super supportive husband and we enjoy running and biking the trails along the Wasatch Front together. Between us we have 7 children and 9 grandchildren.  I am really having fun trying new races in scenic parts of Utah, I am a newbie in the ultrarunning world, I am slow, but love everything about it!  I have a lot to learn, but I am enjoying the journey.

I have been so inspired by all of you on the blog!  After such a fun weekend, I have been all fired up to do better.  This morning I jumped out of bed at 5:30 and went over to the spa and did 5 miles on the treadmill, it took just under an hour.  I came home and got ready for another run with Maurine.  I told her we had to get above the crappy air, so I took her and Odee up to Jeremy Ranch and we ran on a dirt road, of course it was covered with snow and ran a hilly course to the intersection that takes you to East Canyon Res. It was gorgous, blue blue skies. There was hardly any traffic, we followed a river most of the way. I ended up doing 13.50 with Maurine.  I left her to go get food because she was shooting for 20 miles today.  I got some healthy grub from the Whole Foods store and went back and picked up Maurine. We were both pretty tired, no pain, just tired, now I am going to go take a shower and nap.

Today was our second weigh in for the Biggest Loser Contest, NOT GOOD!  I was up one pound.  Do you think it could have been the cheeseburger and fries after Painters and the package of chocolate cinnamon bears I ate while snuggling up with Harold on the couch Sat. night?  Oh, well, if I can't eat after a race, I don't want to race!!! I don't have a race until the contest is over, so I should be okay!

Thanks for a great run today! You did really well - I was impressed.

Blame it all on Harold. It must be all his fault. :)

Yep, it's all Harolds fault!

HOLY CRAP girl!!! I was worried about taking flack for running 13 today, then I see this! You are SUPERWOMAN! You are going to have a great year, and that one pound is probably already gone after all of that running.

Here is to a perfect week once again for us. I have got to get my eating under control or it is going to do me in. I do not get what my problem is, I just like food too much!

Have a good week.

Leslie!!! 18.5 miles ??? on a Monday after a half marathon? You are amazing. I bet it felt good to be running up by Park City. You and Tarzan sure have a special bond and friendship. I am so PROUD of you two. I am so impressed with your ultra training and running. You two are gonna do great.

Oh, snuggling up to your sweet hubby and eating can be dangerous... but oh so sweet and fun. No worries, "love weight" don't count. :)

Kelli, I will have to read your blog about your 13 miler. Yes! Here is to a perfect week of nutrition! Monday was great, one down 6 to go!!

Smooth, Park City was BEAUTIFUL and Maurine is a great friend and running partner for sure. I will twist her arm and make her do Painters next year!

Marion, as long as I am taking heavy drugs my heels are fine! Looser?? I don't think so, you and the rest of the Painters group are my inspiration!

She is crazy - but it is all my fault.
