Personal:

I started running at age 40 (14 years ago!)  I am married to Harold, he is a super supportive husband and we enjoy running and biking the trails along the Wasatch Front together. Between us we have 7 children and 9 grandchildren.  I am really having fun trying new races in scenic parts of Utah, I am a newbie in the ultrarunning world, I am slow, but love everything about it!  I have a lot to learn, but I am enjoying the journey.

I had a great run this morning!  My heels felt better today than they have in months.  I am taking a new med called Ciprofloxacin for my PF and it seems to make a huge difference. I am going to stretch the heck out my feet these next few days and ice and hopefully I will be fine for Painters.

The meds for my infection have kicked in and I feel great, things are looking up!!

I am going to focus on healthy foods these next few days and keep it light, so like Smooth says, I won't have too much junk in my trunk for Painters!  I love it!!!

Great job, Leslie! Glad your feet and insides are feeling better.

From Marion on Wed, Jan 14, 2009 at 11:49:40

I am SO glad that your heels are feeling better! YAY!!!! Yipee!!!!

Ciprofloxacin is an antibiotic, a very strong one. I took it for my sinus infection. It also treats anthrax :)

From leslie on Wed, Jan 14, 2009 at 12:00:18

No wonder my heels feel so good!

From Kelli on Wed, Jan 14, 2009 at 15:39:21

If it treats anthrax, you should be good to go! Glad things are looking up and good luck with the food. So far today I have eaten little jelly cinnamon hearts---12 points worth. STUPID! I need to go eat some real food. But I am frustrated and i go crazy when i get frustrated. Good thing that is the ONLY candy we have in the house!

From Marion on Wed, Jan 14, 2009 at 15:44:17

I am with you Kelli- I am up to my eyeballs in frustration! I don't care if Ashley's world ENDS because her mother could not stand to wait MORE THAN 2.5 HOURS for EFY registration!!! I am done! and cinnamon candies sound WONDERFUL!!! it is a VERY good thin they are not in my house!!!

From Kelli on Wed, Jan 14, 2009 at 15:46:11

We do the local EFY, much easier to get in to, cheaper, and not overnight! Plus, we can sign up later AFTER we know when her soccer camps are. GOOD LUCK with that!

From leslie on Wed, Jan 14, 2009 at 15:54:00

Sorry you guys are frustrated! Those little cherubs do make things busy!

So good so far on the nutrition, I hope I can keep it up, I am going to make some kale and veggie chicken soup with some barley. I am so focused on this today that I realize I am gritting my teeth. It takes all my freaking consentration to be good!

From Marion on Wed, Jan 14, 2009 at 15:55:07

How do we do the local EFY???

This frustration is why I am not giving up the Diet pepsi! I NEED it!!!

From Kelli on Wed, Jan 14, 2009 at 15:58:12

They have local ones here in Sandy and West Valley and a bunch of other places. Ashly really likes them and the sign up is later. BUT I think the BYU ones are cool, we just can not ever send Ashly becasue we do not know when her soccer camps are going to be---and she CAN NOT miss those or she gets booted from the team.

From Kelli on Wed, Jan 14, 2009 at 15:58:37

Leslie, can I bring you some cinnamon hearts, please????

From leslie on Wed, Jan 14, 2009 at 16:13:27

Yes Diet Cokes = peace and harmony! Slap me if I ever attempt to give it up again. It is my prozac!

Kelli, please bring me the candy!!! My jaws are locked shut and I need relief.

From Kelli on Wed, Jan 14, 2009 at 16:21:52

I just need to go eat some food. Why am I still on the computer??? Not to mention that it is freezing in my basement, my hands are numb, and toes have frostbite!

From Smooth on Wed, Jan 14, 2009 at 16:22:44

You girls are cracking me up. I can't wait to see you in three days.

Leslie, YAY!!! I am so proud of you on your run and your NUTRITION today.

K, here's my soap box, ready? WE ARE ATHLETES IN TRAINING. We need good fuel for our beautiful athletic bods. Yes we wear sport bras and have wonderful athletic supporter (meaning our husbands, not the jock streps). We are vivacious, healthy, bright, fast hot chicks who love teenagers for THEIR dorkiness and little toddlers for THEIR sweetness. We must put good things in so we can have good things out. I'm stepping off the soap box now. Feel free to egg or tomato me anytime! :) I LOVE you gals.

From Kelli on Wed, Jan 14, 2009 at 16:24:50

Oh, you make me laugh! I think that by filling my body with cinnamon hearts all morning, I am going to be the sweetest, hottest mom ever!

From Marion on Wed, Jan 14, 2009 at 16:24:51

Candy!! Shut it about the candy! :p I just finished putting my goal weight signs all over my house. Now everyone is going to know how MUCH I want to weigh to be "happy." Hopefully they can't add and figure out HOW MUCH I currently weigh :) Gaul- it's not like they can t just open their eyes and SEE IT!!! :D

YES to diet Pepsi/coke! It is a whole lot less bad than cinnamon hearts!!! (less bad??? that sounds lame!)

From Kelli on Wed, Jan 14, 2009 at 16:27:01

You are right, it is less bad. Just 5 hearts have 130 calories, and i have had.....well, 12 points worth. Do the math. BUT they are gone, I sent them with my Kindergartner to feed his friends instead of me!

Okay, I am off to finally make myself some real food---a nice 4 point sandwich! Then off to ballet! have a great day ladies! Thanks for chatting all over the board with me!

From Marion on Wed, Jan 14, 2009 at 16:27:13

Instead of egging and tomato-ing you Smooth- can I make an omelet out of the tomatoes and eggs??? I love tomato omelets!!

From leslie on Wed, Jan 14, 2009 at 16:28:23

Kelli, bring me the candy and I will feed you some healthy warm soup and you will warm right up!!

Smooth, I always love to hear your bits of wisdom, you can get on your soap box any time!! I love it, and I am so excited to spend time with you guys this weekend. BTW, if anyone needs more time for showers or whatever, Harold and I are staying alone in a 3 bedroom house until Sunday, you are welcome to shower, or crash for an extra night!

From Marion on Wed, Jan 14, 2009 at 16:28:36

yes Kelli- you are the sweetest hottest mom around! ;)

From Kelli on Wed, Jan 14, 2009 at 16:29:51

THANKS. Now, I am really leaving to make lunch!

From Smooth on Wed, Jan 14, 2009 at 16:35:03

Me TOO, I love tomato omelets.

Should I be eating some cinnamon bears soo I can be a sweet hot mama?

I'm having so fun laughing out loud. OK, I'm going to make me some horse food for lunch right now. My butts really hurt from sitting in front of the PC.

From leslie on Wed, Jan 14, 2009 at 16:41:34

Me too girls! Now off to make a super healthy dinner!!!

From Kelli on Wed, Jan 14, 2009 at 20:28:43

Did you watch Biggest Loser yet for this week (last night's episode)? I do not want to ruin it if you haven't yet, so I will just say I have never cried that hard watching the show!! And I cry a lot. So many parts of it were just heartbreaking! But, there is a MORMON on the show----did you see the picture of the temple with Filipe and his wife???
