Personal:

I started running at age 40 (14 years ago!)  I am married to Harold, he is a super supportive husband and we enjoy running and biking the trails along the Wasatch Front together. Between us we have 7 children and 9 grandchildren.  I am really having fun trying new races in scenic parts of Utah, I am a newbie in the ultrarunning world, I am slow, but love everything about it!  I have a lot to learn, but I am enjoying the journey.

I did my same 5 mile course  I did yesterday along Danish Road, alittle faster than yesterday, but not much.

I had a great day for my first day on my Biggest Loser contest!  I am determined to do well. I am hoping to do some weights this afternoon.

I have a super busy day today, so off I go.  Have a great day!!!

les - congratulations on making it out every single day this year! Keep up the good work.

From leslie on Fri, Jan 02, 2009 at 14:00:53

I am such a good girl. What are your running plans for Sat? Harold and I were going to crosscountry ski with our friends, but it fell through. I would be up for an early run.

From Marion on Fri, Jan 02, 2009 at 15:13:55

Is that some kind of record? We have all run every day this year! I say we make it a contest and the first person the skip a day has to take the others to lunch! (You must run at least 2 miles for it to count with one day of rest per week ;) *** tapers before races do not count as a skipped day. Are you guys in????

From tarzan on Fri, Jan 02, 2009 at 15:16:17

I'm in!

From Marion on Fri, Jan 02, 2009 at 15:24:32

If we all make it the whole year we get to party!

From leslie on Fri, Jan 02, 2009 at 17:12:57

I'm in! I love contests!!!!! Good idea girl!!! I needed that to get me REALLY going!!! Marion you are going to have a very fast Painters! Will you please wait all afternoon and cheer me in??? Bring a flashlight and good book and dinner and a lounge chair....you may be there awhile!

From Kelli on Fri, Jan 02, 2009 at 19:18:49

Okay, so when do I take you all to lunch???

From Becca on Fri, Jan 02, 2009 at 19:31:27

Good luck with Biggest Loser! We have one at work and my friend won $1200 last year!

What a fun contest idea, Marion! I didn't run on the 2nd, so I'll treat anyone who wants to come to Okinawa to lunch! We can have sushi, soba, curry, taco-rice, or of course...McDonald's! ;)

From Marion on Fri, Jan 02, 2009 at 20:07:35

Becca- It's still the 2nd here- you can get a run in ;)

From Becca on Fri, Jan 02, 2009 at 20:13:06

Oh! Well if I get to do it in your time zone instead of my own, I'm still in it!

From tarzan on Fri, Jan 02, 2009 at 21:04:42

OK Marion - can I be let off the hook now?

From leslie on Fri, Jan 02, 2009 at 22:29:01

Becca, I wish there was a $12,000 pot! I think ours will be about $250. Now I am having a sushi craving. We just went out for Mexican food, I was so-so, I ate 2 tamales and not one single chip. I bet tamales are bad, but I could have done worse! I just found out the contest actually starts Monday, and I am still being good. Yay for me!

So Becca did you get your run in???

From Becca on Fri, Jan 02, 2009 at 22:44:53

Not 12,000...1,200! But still, it's a good chunk of change!

Yum we had tamales the other night for dinner...from the freezer.

My run is complete for Jan 2 and Jan 3. This works out very well because if I time it right one run can count as two! ;)

From leslie on Fri, Jan 02, 2009 at 22:48:05

I always mess up on those big numbers, hey $1,200 is a good chunk of change!

So Becca you are on for the run 6 days a week contest??

From Marion on Fri, Jan 02, 2009 at 23:09:57

No MAurine- You are IN!! :)
