Personal:

I started running at age 40 (14 years ago!)  I am married to Harold, he is a super supportive husband and we enjoy running and biking the trails along the Wasatch Front together. Between us we have 7 children and 9 grandchildren.  I am really having fun trying new races in scenic parts of Utah, I am a newbie in the ultrarunning world, I am slow, but love everything about it!  I have a lot to learn, but I am enjoying the journey.

This morning our running group got out on the road at 5:00am and did a nine mile route weaving thru Cottonwood Heights and ending up at Mimi's in Murray. It was one of those perfect runs, great weather, great company and feeling the thrill of being pushed just a little harder than normal and yet feeling strong at the finish.  Our average pace was 11:55.

After eating breakfast did you all run home or did you have rides?

Hey Leslie,

I love reading your blog. I want to come run with you! It seems just right, a good push but nothing like running with 9 min milers. (I want to get there some day, but I'm not up to that yet).

How was Portland Marathon? We are doing that instead of st george this year. Keep up the great work!

Kim, Hi! We planted a car there the night before, it works out really nice, I like that better than doing a loop, you feel like you are covering more distance....whatever works mentally, right?

Laurie, way to go on your treadmill work out! Portland was nice, I did it years ago because I didn't get into St. George as well. It was a fairly flat course, not real scenic, the aid was good. I think you will enjoy it, it is nice to make a trip out of a run. You will have to join us sometime! We do our long runs usually on a Friday, let me know when you can come and we will tell you where to meet us and you can see if it works for you. We have a fun bunch of gals.
