Personal:

I started running at age 40 (14 years ago!)  I am married to Harold, he is a super supportive husband and we enjoy running and biking the trails along the Wasatch Front together. Between us we have 7 children and 9 grandchildren.  I am really having fun trying new races in scenic parts of Utah, I am a newbie in the ultrarunning world, I am slow, but love everything about it!  I have a lot to learn, but I am enjoying the journey.

This morning I felt like the bottom of my feet had been pounded over and over again with a hammer, they felt almost bruised.  I went over to the park and ran for one mile on the grass barefoot and then said to heck with it!  I am now recovering up at Snowbird with my hubby  in our lovely cozy timeshare with my feet up and enjoying the scenery and the quiet.

I went to WW this morning and was not too happy.  I am 6.8 pounds from my goal, but this is getting to be a joke, I joined in Nov. with only 10 pounds to lose and I can't seem to get there.  I thought maybe if I add this to my blog, it might keep me a little more honest, it is worth a try.  I am so guilty of rationalizing the food.... must carbo load, and then the reward after a good run, I need to find a balance.

Grasshopper....balance difficult to find - but a good choice. Balance improve significantly if you stand on a narrow beam above a boiling cauldron of water......

Thank you wise one! Good thing you are in Layton and I am at Snowbird, or you would get it from me!!! Do you have a narrow beam? I do have a cauldron....

Now ladies- take it easy! I have both the beam and the cauldron. You two head on down here and I will officiate the duel. Let the games begin!

You are right about the feeling entitled to snarf after a hard workout. I find myself in the same stinkin'(sinking?) boat.
