Personal:

I started running at age 40 (14 years ago!)  I am married to Harold, he is a super supportive husband and we enjoy running and biking the trails along the Wasatch Front together. Between us we have 7 children and 9 grandchildren.  I am really having fun trying new races in scenic parts of Utah, I am a newbie in the ultrarunning world, I am slow, but love everything about it!  I have a lot to learn, but I am enjoying the journey.

Muscle up, what the heck, I don't have a race until April, I can chill a bit.

Yes, after your race season, you deserve a break.

Not that I'm asking for your address, but roughly where do you live? If you can run up to La Caille and back that means you have good access to Dimple Dell and the trails there. Also, LCC and Bell Canyon. Wherever you live, I am very jealous. We are hoping to move to Sandy/CH in about a year and a half.

I live in Cottonwood Heights, I back up to the field behind the Cottonwood Heights Rec Center and Butler Middle School. I love the area, and can't think of a better location. You really need to check it out. The Rec Center is great, the mountains are in our back yard and the freeway access is super handy, shopping is great for your wife. Perfect. You would love it.

You are relatively close to my grandparents. Not sure if you know John and Wanda Fortie. They have lived there for many decades.

Wait. Scratch that. You are a bit west of them. You probably don't know them. Sorry for the assumption.

For some reason I thought you were doing the Mesquite Marathon.

Burt, I was, but it fell thru, I wish I was, but too late now. You are right? I am anxious to see how you like it, I think it is a great time of year for a marathon down there. Good luck.

Bummer. I was looking forward to meeting you. Guess you'll have to wait to meet the handsome fat guy.

Burt, fat boy??? You are fit and lean now and FAST!!! Don't let those negative words into your head! Have a great weekend. I hope you are getting a massage at Casablanca afterwards, their spa is awesome.

From Burt on Thu, Nov 19, 2009 at 12:09:04 from 12.231.112.98

Okay. I know I'm not as fat as I used to be, but I still like saying it. As far as a massage goes, I've always been reluctant to do that because I'm so stinky after running. Again with the negative words, hee hee.
