Personal:

I started running at age 40 (14 years ago!)  I am married to Harold, he is a super supportive husband and we enjoy running and biking the trails along the Wasatch Front together. Between us we have 7 children and 9 grandchildren.  I am really having fun trying new races in scenic parts of Utah, I am a newbie in the ultrarunning world, I am slow, but love everything about it!  I have a lot to learn, but I am enjoying the journey.

I ran in the snow. I need brownie points or brownies. My fingers are so numb I can hardly write. This better be the last of winter, OR ELSE!! Super slow today, ran up Bengal Blvd to Danish. Not fun. oh, there was snow on the ground and snow coming down. waaaaa. Doesn't Mother Nature know it is spring for crying out loud!!!

Oh yeah. I just think of the snow/ice/mud/soft sand this will be adding to my race and want to smash my head against a wall.

I just went down to Wastach Running and got some of those real nice gloves you have and a new pair of socks and some sports beans for us!

From maurine on Thu, Mar 26, 2009 at 13:15:57 from 63.255.172.2

You will like the gloves! Did you get the lighter or heavier weight type. Make sure you are also ready for the weather on Saturday.

they are the light ones, I think they are exactly like yours with the mitten cover thing on the top. Yes, I will be prepared for whatever weather we have, that is why I bought the gloves, I was sick of those $1.00 ones that do absolutely nothing!!! My fingers froze this morning, it was a good reminder for me, and they were on sale, those gloves are pricey.

WOW, Leslie! 100 brownie points for you! I did not go out this morning. It's a blizzard, white out, snow, hail, wind, icy. The snow plows came by twice and only made a mess. There're 3" of snow on my driveway and a snow drift is forming very quickly as the wind howling around.

Looks like you went "Christmas" shopping at WRC. You are so prepared for Sat.

I will bring you some brownies, forget the points, they do not taste as good!!!! Na, I can not do that becasue I would eat them.

I was wondering if any brave souls went running outside today. CRAZY! It is so cold with the wind I never would have made it. GOOD JOB!

I was also thinking about how this would affect the trail----MUD!!! Yuck. I hope it dries out pretty well by Saturday for you two ladies.

From Maurine/Tarzan on Thu, Mar 26, 2009 at 21:28:06 from 97.117.61.64

I hope there won't be too much mud - that slows me down and makes my shoes heavier.

I will conquer the beast! It is my destiny!
