Personal:

I started running at age 40 (14 years ago!)  I am married to Harold, he is a super supportive husband and we enjoy running and biking the trails along the Wasatch Front together. Between us we have 7 children and 9 grandchildren.  I am really having fun trying new races in scenic parts of Utah, I am a newbie in the ultrarunning world, I am slow, but love everything about it!  I have a lot to learn, but I am enjoying the journey.

I just signed up for Painters Half Marathon in St. George on Jan. 23, a month from today.  I am hoping this will get me alittle more motivated to run, I need to get back in shape for the Red Mountain 50K in April.  I have been enjoying my 2 month recovery break from  my 50 miler and need a reason to get back into gear.  Having a race on the calendar seems to help some.

Yeah, I hear you there. I've been lazy and need something to shoot for. I'll have to find something cheap and easy.

Kelli, Hi girl!!!! So who are you pacing this time? What kind of a pace are you doing? I will be slower than last year I am sure, so I doubt that will work. I am thinking a I will be lucky doing about a 12 min. mile this time. It will be fun to see you down there though. Who all is going that I know? I know Smooth is and I think Marion is doing the 5K right?

Kelli, I hope you and Scott have a wonderful Christmas, it looks like you are pain free and flying again!! I am excited you two are going to Boston.

Hmmm. I really could use a trip to St. George. I may look into this. Merry Christmas Leslie.

Her name is Emily. She lives in Herriman, but I met her through the blog. She has only ever done one race before (the Herriman Pumpkin Run, 5 miles) so this will be a first for her. I am not sure what we are shooting for, she usually runs on the treadmill. I am going to have to talk with her in more detail soon, but we have both been sick off and on for a bit so we have not run together for a while.

Marion, Josse, Mackenzie, Teena, Smooth, Emily, me, Julie and Shimelle (from my running group---actually, I think most of them are going but I do not know who you know). It will be FUN.

Wow! That's great so many are going!!! I will hang in the back, the thought of trying to keep up with anyone sounds like too much work right now. I will look for you there!!
