Personal:

I started running at age 40 (14 years ago!)  I am married to Harold, he is a super supportive husband and we enjoy running and biking the trails along the Wasatch Front together. Between us we have 7 children and 9 grandchildren.  I am really having fun trying new races in scenic parts of Utah, I am a newbie in the ultrarunning world, I am slow, but love everything about it!  I have a lot to learn, but I am enjoying the journey.

I just got back from Bootcamp, I am not sure  if I am going to run or not.

Does Julie want to run? When I don't feel like running, it helps to have someone counting on me.

Is the air icky up by you? If you do run outside, take it easy. We need a rain storm to wash away this gunk!

I seriously want to try this bootcamp. Do they travel out here? Are you still loving it?

Smooth, yes, the air is really bad up here too.

Julie is still running, I am going to meet her in just a few minutes, we are going to increase our running time this morning. She is doing good.

Kelli, there are several locations, I don't know which one would be closest to you. Check their website, it is Bootcamp with Jess. I think you would like it, but you are disciplined anyway, I am not sure it would be worth it for someone as fit as you. The summer sale is over and now it is $495 for 6 weeks. I think it is still a bargin when you look at the hourly rate you are paying for "almost" personal training 5 days a week. Check it out. What I like is I don't have to think about it, they just tell you what to do and you know they are giving you the whole package, and of course they push you so much harder than you would do if you were working out on your own, in my case anyway.

The personal trainer at out gym started a new group training. There are 4 of us and we workout twice a week for 45 minutes (plus cardio after, he will tell you what to do and it is your choice whether or not to do it---I skip it and do my own thing). It is $100 a month, so a pretty good deal, I think! Especially considering I was paying him almost $400 for 5 weeks of the same thing in a group of 3!

How many days is the bootcamp? Everyday?

From leslie peterson on Wed, Sep 02, 2009 at 10:59:28 from 76.23.61.78

Kelli, it is 5 days a week. Mon.-Thur. in a gym and on Fridays everyone goes to Hillcrest to work out as a big group. I think you get a lot of bang for your buck. It comes out to be $16.50 per session. Have you looked up the website?

That is a good deal, wish they provided daycare for me!!! I love how the locations are all decked out like military! Do they yell at you?

From leslie peterson on Wed, Sep 02, 2009 at 16:48:07 from 76.23.61.78

Kelli, the first week they totally yell at you, but you have to realize it is their "trademark", it is still intimidating but after the first week, it is not so bad. They are actually very nice.
