Personal:

I started running at age 40 (14 years ago!)  I am married to Harold, he is a super supportive husband and we enjoy running and biking the trails along the Wasatch Front together. Between us we have 7 children and 9 grandchildren.  I am really having fun trying new races in scenic parts of Utah, I am a newbie in the ultrarunning world, I am slow, but love everything about it!  I have a lot to learn, but I am enjoying the journey.

I had a great hike up to White Pine Lake in Big Cottonwood Canyon with Kim.  The last mile was on snow fields.  The Lake was spectacular.  I was pleasantly surprised that the climb didn't bother me after my tough day yesterday. I must be getting stronger!!

That is one of my favorite hikes in the Wasatch and It is so beautiful up there right now. It looks like you're getting out to some fantastic places.

Smooth, this is my kind of work out for sure, hiking and granny style trail running. I makes me so happy. I am trying to schedule all my appts in the afternoon so I can play in my canyons all morning.

Hello Scott, fellow hiker, we have one amazing backyard don't we?? White Pine was awesome, my most favorite trail run is the Wasatch Crest, but I do try and mix it up, it is always fun to try a new trail.

Rachel, it has been a perfect week!!! Next week I am going to try the Mid Mountain Marathon course in Park City, I hear it is great.

Great mileage. Where do you get on the trails to hike to this place?

From leslie peterson on Fri, Jul 03, 2009 at 11:29:33 from 76.23.61.78

Maurine, it is the White and Red Pines Trail head, there is a little parking lot up Big Cottonwood Canyon on the right hand side, almost up to Snowbird.
