Personal:

I started running at age 40 (14 years ago!)  I am married to Harold, he is a super supportive husband and we enjoy running and biking the trails along the Wasatch Front together. Between us we have 7 children and 9 grandchildren.  I am really having fun trying new races in scenic parts of Utah, I am a newbie in the ultrarunning world, I am slow, but love everything about it!  I have a lot to learn, but I am enjoying the journey.

Had a great time at the Oval with Gary.  We both have Ipods, so we chat on the way to the Oval and then zone out to our books on tape. I am listening to Girl with the Pearl Earring.  It is good, I am enjoying the distraction. Today, we saw Russia, Norway, France and the USA speed skaters practicing for the Olympics.  Very exciting!!!

wow, how stinkin' cool is that? I'd probably be entertained just watching them!! Seeing if I could make one lap to their 10 :)

Really?! You got to watch the international speed skaters practice!!! That sounds so COOL!

Books on tape is an EXCELLENT idea! I'll have to try that when I get my own ipod! :)

Nice miles!

Oh, how fun to watch!!!

I have never tried "reading" a book while running. That is a thought....

Hey girls, it is fun to go once a week and have a change of pace. The book on tape is good if you are going slow like me, if I were trying to go fast I wouldn't be able to concentrate on the story.

Kelli, thank you so much for my Super Bowl Soup dressing!!!!! You didn't mention how much chopped tomato, about the same as one 16 oz. can, do you think?

From Kelli on Fri, Feb 05, 2010 at 09:55:23 from 71.219.89.82

The first time I made it, I used real tomatoes. Every other time I have just used a can (15 oz or so) of chopped tomato. My brother, who gave me the recipe, just says, "As much as you want!" I wish I could remember how many real tomatoes I used, but it was so long ago! Go with the can!!!!

Thanks Kelli, I will probably do that too!

You are welcome!!! Enjoy it. I am totally going to make some next week, you have me craving it. I only make it like twice a year because most of my kids do not like it. We have not had any since October!

Nice miles Leslie. One of these weeks I would like to join you guys at the Oval. I love to mix things up onc ein a while.
