Personal:

I started running at age 40 (14 years ago!)  I am married to Harold, he is a super supportive husband and we enjoy running and biking the trails along the Wasatch Front together. Between us we have 7 children and 9 grandchildren.  I am really having fun trying new races in scenic parts of Utah, I am a newbie in the ultrarunning world, I am slow, but love everything about it!  I have a lot to learn, but I am enjoying the journey.

Maurine and I did  our first Millcreek 5K.  Our time was  26.42  We drove up to Log Haven and ran down the canyon.  Maurine was a great pacer, she provided great motivational tips and music entertainment for my running pleasure.  She sang the Rocky Theme and  Stayin' Alive ( she was thinking she might have to do CPR since I was breathing so hard). Maurine stayed right by side the whole time and even got me to sprint at the end with a bribe of breakfast if I could pass her....almost!  We finished together.  That was great for my self esteem to think I could go that fast, the only time I ever ran that fast was with Maurine on the Antelope Island 50K, when I thought that a buffalo was chasing me. We are hoping to do the same route and try and keep shaving off our time.  It was SO much fun!! Hopefully we can get afew more of you to join us next time! Check out Tarzans blog, I am sure she will have the splits, my garmin is still in the shop.

7.3 from goal

I am so proud of you for surviving the run today. I think you can consider yourself as having gotten faster than last year.

Oh, that was probably a beautiful run!! And way to go, by the way! I bet you guys had a blast. Now, make it a 10k and I will drive there to meet you (it is a long drive for 3 miles, right?)---or we can do it twice?

7 and change to goal---that is so awesome!!! YEAH!!! I have, um, fallen off the wagon this week. I gained 3 pounds. Back on the wagon tomorrow!!! That is so not good, but I earned every pound, dang ice cream!

Kelli, we could make it a 10k! I loved the downhill, not too steep, just right! Dang those 3 pounds, they are sneaky! I am heading off to Misquite for 3 days, I am hoping I can keep my nutrition in line..... have a great week.

Marion, your vacation sounds so fun! The trail run sounds gorgous, I love the humidity too and the lush green California woods. I can smell it from here!!
