I started running at age 40 (14 years ago!)  I am married to Harold, he is a super supportive husband and we enjoy running and biking the trails along the Wasatch Front together. Between us we have 7 children and 9 grandchildren.  I am really having fun trying new races in scenic parts of Utah, I am a newbie in the ultrarunning world, I am slow, but love everything about it!  I have a lot to learn, but I am enjoying the journey.

What a fun time!!  The park was filled with pink!  I think there were about 38 people running.  Marion did a great job organizing this, I think it will be a wonderful tradition!  The grand prize ceramic gaudy chicken was the ultimate reward!  I know deep in everyone's heart  we all wanted it to adorn our elegant dinning room  tables!!

My plan was to be the sweeper, but I was a lousy one, Marion had to get the crowd off and she and I ended up running together, she was having stomach problems, and I was exhausted from my week, so we enjoyed chillin' in the back and talking.  Marion also wanted to be at the finish line to see all her chicks come in.

So we made it a 10k and turned around and went back to the park!

It was so fun to see all the fun outfits, tutus, wild stockings, it was great! Lots of yummy food and fun gifts for everyone.  Most of us got a CD with running chick music as well!  We had some brave men that joined us to add to the fun!

Harold was a great photographer, he has well over a hundred shots, he will get them together and we will let you know how you can view them.

What fun friends!  Thanks for the great time, especially Marion and Michelle!!!

I was so happy to see you again, it has been forever. NOW, we must get that lunch date planned soon while I still have my full time babysitter with me!

Tell Harold thanks for the shots on my camera, that was nice of him to do for me!!!

From LuzyLew on Sat, Jul 11, 2009 at 14:45:11 from

wasn't that the best! It was great to see you again! I'm with you, I hope that becomes a tradition--but then, I didn't do any of the work to help set it up! P.S. glad to see I wasn't the only half marathon "cheater" :) I just thought it was the best thing I've done all month. I absolutely loved all the pink too!

From RAD on Sat, Jul 11, 2009 at 14:45:17 from

I was so happy (wait, I just looked up and saw Kelli wrote EXACTLY what I was typing....I'll need to change up my comment now) that I won amazing gloves and got to visit with you! :)

hahaha, okay, I'm over it now. I'm excited to see the pics! I didn't even think about bringing my camera so I'm glad some smart people did! This was one of the greatest races/runs I've ever done AND it was beautiful weather and course. I think that sometime I'll have to meet you and try to tackle muscle-up. I MIGHT be able to do it now!

From Maurine/Tarzan on Sat, Jul 11, 2009 at 15:29:26 from

I knew Harold would take a billion pics since you told me he would be the photographer - meant I could leave my camera at home.

Glad you had a fun time and thanks for letting me mother you again (I am always over prepared - aren't I?).

From Maurine/Tarzan on Sat, Jul 11, 2009 at 15:30:58 from

I forgot to mention - congratulations on taking second in your race. :-)

From leslie peterson on Sat, Jul 11, 2009 at 16:24:04 from

Kelli, it was so good to see you, we have a picture of you that just cracked up Harold and I, you are so cute!!! I am a free woman, I would love to lunch any time!!!!!!

LuzyLew, hey fellow cheater! We cheated alot more than you! Yes, I agree, it was the best race/social event of the year!!!!! I am so glad to be a part of this fun group!!!

Lovely Lady with the sexy gloves, it was fun to chat with you! I would do muscle up with you whenever you want to make the trek over here!!!

Maurine Mama, we got tons of great pictures, Harold screwed up though and put a double chin on ALL my pictures. The jerk. Thanks for the water, holder, blocks and gel!!!!!!

From leslie peterson on Sat, Jul 11, 2009 at 16:26:08 from

Oh, and yes, wasn't I cool to get second place in the 10K??? :)

From Kelli on Sat, Jul 11, 2009 at 16:27:01 from

OH NO!!!!! What am I doing in the picture?????

From leslie peterson on Sat, Jul 11, 2009 at 16:31:59 from

We had a cute picture of you with your mouth wide open and we could see your tonsils! lol:) Harold is loading the pictures onto photobucket right now.

From Kelli on Sat, Jul 11, 2009 at 16:32:55 from

I am the worst with pictures, THE WORST!!!! That is why I try to always be on the other end of the camera. I am such a dork!

From leslie peterson on Sat, Jul 11, 2009 at 16:35:02 from

Kelli, it is cute, it is not an embaressing one at all I promise! Okay, so we exagerated on the tonsils part!!!

From marion on Sat, Jul 11, 2009 at 16:40:17 from

THANK YOU SO MUCH Leslie! You saved my poor nauseated tummy :) It was SO fun to see everyone come in! What a fun race!

From leslie peterson on Sat, Jul 11, 2009 at 16:45:37 from

Marion, it worked out great, it was fun! Let me know if you can view the pictures I just sent you, we are not sure how to get this to everyone, I am sure they will all check your blog if you can direct them there.

From Smooth on Sat, Jul 11, 2009 at 17:26:52 from

From Kelli on Sat, Jul 11, 2009 at 17:43:41 from

Aw, thanks!!!! I just watched all of the pictures in a slideshow. VERY COOL! I find it so funny that there is one of me running and the two people I am with saw the camera and waved and I was totally oblivious! How funny! Oh, and there is another great group shot with me being a GOOF BALL!

Tell Harold thanks!!!!!

From Shimelle on Sat, Jul 11, 2009 at 17:44:13 from

It was great to meet you! You are a sweetheart. Great job running also.

From Teena on Sat, Jul 11, 2009 at 18:20:06 from

Hey Les!!!

What a FUN morning you all had!!! I am so so so happy for all of you, but have to admit a little jealous as well!!! :)

Tell Harold thank you so much for me. At least the pics let's me experiece the race on some level!!!

From Leandra on Sat, Jul 11, 2009 at 19:06:38 from

So fun to meet you today and I had a great time! Can't wait to go to photobucket and look at your pics.

From Burt on Sat, Jul 11, 2009 at 21:31:41 from

I have to comment on that last picture. You've got Kelli being a goof. There's Leandra making a peace sign. Hmmm...she was making a peace sign in all your pictures. You know she only has three fingers, don't you? Then there's Smooth. I figured she was small, but didn't quite realize she was that tiny. You go Smooth. And who's that tall girl next to Josse? Was Marion so strict that she was making people raise their hands when they had questions? And finally RAD's back there standing on a box.

From RAD on Sun, Jul 12, 2009 at 00:32:59 from

Burt, how did you know I was standing on a box?!? You can totally tell what an amazon woman I am - DANG, I'm just happy I wasn't next to Smooth, it would've been a lot worse! :)

Leslie, thanks so much for the pics...I'm off to see them right now! Tell Harold thanks a bunch.

From kellies on Sun, Jul 12, 2009 at 16:06:38 from

leslie!! It was so good to see you again this morning. Your hubby was so nice to come along and take all of those pictures. Please tell him thank you from me!! You are awesome!! Nice work on getting 2nd Place :) !! Look forward to seeing you again soon!~
