Personal:

I started running at age 40 (14 years ago!)  I am married to Harold, he is a super supportive husband and we enjoy running and biking the trails along the Wasatch Front together. Between us we have 7 children and 9 grandchildren.  I am really having fun trying new races in scenic parts of Utah, I am a newbie in the ultrarunning world, I am slow, but love everything about it!  I have a lot to learn, but I am enjoying the journey.

A new instructor at bootcamp, he was trying to impress the boss I think and about killed us.  My arms will probably not work tomorrow.

I am off to do my run with Julie, I will probably come back and adjust my mileage.

My legs are still sore from yesterdays bootcamp and my 3 1/2 hour hike.  And why is the scale not moving? oh, yeah, because I am consuming so many calories to keep up my energy, I don't know if I will ever find the right balance, but I am happy to feel strong and healthy.

You are doing awesome and getting very fit. Hang in there and be patient and you will see the results.

SUPER fit woman :) hey, there is a cool tracker that Michelle is using. (I just use my WW one) Google myfoodpyramid.gov. It is pretty extensive, but it tracks all of your activity and all of your food so you can make sure you are getting the deficit to lose.

I want to come do boot camp with you! We'll have to have a boot camp instructor in our dream beach bungalow community :)

Marion - I've used fitday.com for years and it is a free food and exercise tracker.

Sounds cool. I'll check it out

Marion, I have done fitday too, I need to get back to that or the one you mentioned. Ithank that besides loving food and eating too much, that menopause may be adding to the mix.

From leslie peterson on Wed, Aug 05, 2009 at 15:37:12 from 76.23.61.78

ophs, think not thank!

So - do I qualify as post-menopausal? do you actually have to go through menopause to hit that stage of life?

From Smooth on Wed, Aug 05, 2009 at 15:40:37 from 71.36.75.185

GOOD JOB Les! Keep it up! Don't get me started on the menopause thing!

Marion, we so badly need to move into our beach front bungalow with maids, chefs and bootcamp instructors. We will all look like beach volleyball babes.

From leslie peterson on Wed, Aug 05, 2009 at 15:48:33 from 76.23.61.78

oh, and I am in on the beach place!!!!

We would be the most relaxed happy runners in the world. I think we all need a vacation :) Let's go :) I'm going camping in the morning, but there is little relaxing about that. I don't know how to camp. I am a loser!!! :P Maybe we should just go to 7 peaks and put the tents up in the back yard. (did I mention that I HATE camping?)

From marion on Wed, Aug 05, 2009 at 16:06:00 from 71.213.115.102

Oh- we need a plastic surgeon at our bungalow retreat to take off my ugly brown splotchy spots all over my face :p and a waxer person. Oh and a spray tanner person too. Oh wait, we need a hair dresser/stylist/colorist too. Boy, my list is getting very long.

From marion on Wed, Aug 05, 2009 at 16:06:40 from 71.213.115.102

Oh forget it all, I just want my friends and some beautiful trails. ....and a maid!

HAHA. Nice thread everyone. Marion made me laugh. Leslie, I have the same problem, although I'm trying to add muscle and lose fat and it is hard to know what to eat and how much. Not enough = no muscle and too much = fat. Plus exercising throws it all off. I'm still looking for that balance. Leslie you're like clockwork, a good workout every day! Keep it up.
