Personal:

I started running at age 40 (14 years ago!)  I am married to Harold, he is a super supportive husband and we enjoy running and biking the trails along the Wasatch Front together. Between us we have 7 children and 9 grandchildren.  I am really having fun trying new races in scenic parts of Utah, I am a newbie in the ultrarunning world, I am slow, but love everything about it!  I have a lot to learn, but I am enjoying the journey.

Yay!  A crosstraining day for me!  I did muscle up this morning and than swam 450 meters.  It is the first time I have been in the pool this winter, it felt great. I think I am going to try and have Tue and Thur be crosstraining days for awhile and see how that goes.

Have a great day!

Good plan. That should help with your heels a TON!! Nice swim :D I love swimming :)

From tarzan on Tue, Jan 20, 2009 at 11:27:20

Good job, Les! How are the legs today?

From leslie on Tue, Jan 20, 2009 at 11:48:37

Yes that is what I was thinking Marion, and I want to do one or two tri's this summer.

Maurine, my legs are super-dooper! I thought I better not push it though. How are yours?

From Smooth on Tue, Jan 20, 2009 at 14:22:53

VERY NICE x-training plan. I wish I could swim. I stink at swimming. I SINK. I don't know how to ride a bike either. I think you already know that.

WOW, you're gonna do ultras and tri's? You ARE WONDER WOMAN!!! Glad to hear your legs are super. They look pretty sexy from your avatar. :)

From Kelli on Tue, Jan 20, 2009 at 14:55:31

Great job, you are going to be the muscular granny soon enough!

Have a great day! I have been perfect with the food SO FAR (but I can not call it a success until 4 days have come and gone, my breaking point is day 3).

From britta on Tue, Jan 20, 2009 at 15:09:11

What biggest loser contest are you a part of? Great miles yesterday!

From leslie on Tue, Jan 20, 2009 at 15:20:16

Smooth, I am not much of a swimmer either, but Harold loves to bike, so we can have fun doing a team tri!

Kelli, okay, I hear you, lets go for 7 days of perfection and kick some serious butt! We can do this!

From leslie on Tue, Jan 20, 2009 at 15:22:36

Britta, some friends and family are doing it. We just finished our second week. I was down 2 pounds the first week and up 1 the next. I gain with every race, dang it all!!!

Did I hear you are moving? Where to? Hopefully not too far away.

From Marion on Tue, Jan 20, 2009 at 15:26:47

Hey Leslie- David LOVES to swim- tri's might be the prefect way for David and I to do an event together. I don't ever want to quit running, but I'd prefer to do sports that David would like to do too. Humm... what tri are you and Harold doing? My kids might like tri's too. Humm... now you've got me thinking... humm!!!

From leslie on Tue, Jan 20, 2009 at 15:36:55

Marion, we have done the Alta Canyon triathlon, they do a pool swim, but the Jordonelle one with the open water swim was alot more fun. I actually enjoyed the swim, the open water and wet suit was really an adventure. I just joined the Desert Sharks Tri club so I can go to clinics and learn more. Your kids and David would love it. It is fun to do it as a family team! I got my kids into it and they really enjoyed it. Harold bikes and I swim and run. The Jordonelle one is Aug. 22. When is Hobble Creek? I want to do both of them, I hope they aren't on the same day.

From Marion on Tue, Jan 20, 2009 at 15:48:59

Hobble Creek is the 22nd too. :( Registration opens May 1st.

From leslie on Tue, Jan 20, 2009 at 15:54:13

Dang it! Now I need to make a descion!

From tarzan on Tue, Jan 20, 2009 at 16:00:47

Uh oh - I might have to decide between that and Park City.

From leslie on Tue, Jan 20, 2009 at 16:03:42

Hobblecreek is more fun than Park City.

From Marion on Tue, Jan 20, 2009 at 16:03:56

hchchchchchchchchchchchchchch

that is a subliminal message :)

(Y'all gotta do what you gotta do ;)

We could meet for a dinner at 4pm friday night if we end up at different races :) Or saturday afternoon as a celebration dinner :)

From Marion on Tue, Jan 20, 2009 at 16:04:49

Marion & Leslie are more fun than Park City!!! ;)

From leslie on Tue, Jan 20, 2009 at 16:33:08

Do I hear a Hobblecreek Party in the making?

From Marion on Tue, Jan 20, 2009 at 16:34:41

PARTY!!!! party PARTY party PARTY!!!! I think I am addicted to race parties!!!

From Kelli on Tue, Jan 20, 2009 at 16:40:11

I vote Hobblecreek, too, but that leaves Harold out! Dang it. But, I still vote Hobblecreek. We will throw a party to get you there!

From leslie on Tue, Jan 20, 2009 at 16:44:45

VERY tempting indeed!

Hobblecreek and PARTY VS Jordonelle

Sounds like a no-brainer to me!

What do you say Maurine????

From Smooth on Tue, Jan 20, 2009 at 16:53:59

You can always bring the party to Park City afterwards for Maurine, assuming she's doing the Full. They have great massages at Knead a Massage there.

From Kelli on Tue, Jan 20, 2009 at 16:54:37

And we could be the cheering section!

From Marion on Tue, Jan 20, 2009 at 17:16:13
