Personal:

I started running at age 40 (14 years ago!)  I am married to Harold, he is a super supportive husband and we enjoy running and biking the trails along the Wasatch Front together. Between us we have 7 children and 9 grandchildren.  I am really having fun trying new races in scenic parts of Utah, I am a newbie in the ultrarunning world, I am slow, but love everything about it!  I have a lot to learn, but I am enjoying the journey.

What a fun run!  I got to run with my Chic's this morning!  We went down to the Parkway. Harold and  our grandson DeVante rode their bikes and Odee tagged along.  Des and Jen went out ahead of us, we figured Jen is 24 years younger than me, and Des is a youngster too, so Lisa and I didn't even try to keep up this morning, we just had  a nice comfortable run and caught up on all the lastest.  The super fun part was recognizing our blogging buddies on the trail. I recognized Jody first from her picture on the blog and realized she was with Kim and Paula, I knew Kim lived further south so I didn't think it could be her, but it was.  What a happy reunion!!!! We chatted for about 3 or 4 minutes and then we both went our separate ways!  We think we saw Brent too on the trail, but at the time didn't realize it was him.  It was fun to do the parkway and see all the runners and not have to deal with traffic.

We did our 8 miles in 1:40  Our average pace was 12:31

It was fun to see all you girls!!! You look great!!

I thought it was a fun picture too, but it is just a temporary one until you figure out how to put your race picture on!

I would like to do a long run on the pipeline trail this saturday. My husband has volunteered to bike and provide sag, ie carry water bottles and gu etc. I would like to go out 7-9 miles on the trail before I turn around but others could adjust if needed. :)

Laurie, Maurine and I and my husband and possibly a few others are doing the Wasatch Crest trail. It is about 11-12 miles, it starts up Big Cottonwood Canyon and you run along the ridge to Millcreek. It would be great to have you and your hubby join us, my hubby is biking it. We plan to leave super early because it is such a popular trail and gets crowded, but it is fabulous, let me know if you are interested, we may need help with transportation, it depends on how many people show up.

From laurie on Sun, Jul 27, 2008 at 23:44:57

I would love to come. I need to find a babysitter too, but was planning that already because I don't want to hog the trail with the stroller. But I would love to come and we could fit 3 more in our car if you needed help with transportation. I think my husband would like riding with Harold too, partners for everybody!!!!
