Personal:

I started running at age 40 (14 years ago!)  I am married to Harold, he is a super supportive husband and we enjoy running and biking the trails along the Wasatch Front together. Between us we have 7 children and 9 grandchildren.  I am really having fun trying new races in scenic parts of Utah, I am a newbie in the ultrarunning world, I am slow, but love everything about it!  I have a lot to learn, but I am enjoying the journey.

Plan A was to hike with Kim from Corner Canyon up to the outlaw cabin on the trail to Lone Peak, but the rain and mudslides last night put a stop to that.

Plan B - I just got back from another road run, I have decided that I can do roads as long as I am feeling okay and I keep the miles low, and save my long runs for the trail. When I run on the road there is the embaressment factor of having my friends drive by and seeing how ridiculously slow I am, but I can live with that.  Kim and I are going to do yoga and then lunch.  Nice.

You are so funny, no one will think anything but, "Look at that lady run!!!" That is what I think when I pass people in my car. I am always so proud of them!!!

Have a good day!

Pray for no downpours in the middle of the night, that is what I am afraid of!

I will Kelli, the night running part sounds very fun! Did you run in the night when you did it last time?

Good job on the training Leslie! Keep up the good work.

Not the Utah on, I ran at 5 am and it was getting light. In AZ I ran at about midnight. It was scary there because the race is so small. In 8 miles I only saw one other runner and I could hear coyotes everywhere. FREAKY!

Leslie, I LOVE your new pic. You and Harold are such a cute couple and the sandy beach isn't too bad either. Hey, every time I see someone running, I flash a big smile or thumbs up at them. I know what you mean though. I have walked and hobbled many times around my block and wondered what my neighbors or people in my ward/stake thought. Now I don't anymore. I think most of them were thinking: "Wish I was out there exercising like her."

Oh, I get to run in the East Canyon at 1:00 am. I have never ever run in the dark before. I hope I don't get lost or run over by something.

OH----new picture!!! I love it!

From leslie peterson on Thu, Jun 18, 2009 at 16:12:13 from 76.23.61.78

I put the picture up all by myself, I didn't think it worked. I am so proud of myself!

Kelli, I read all the stuff on Luz's blog, I wish I could be more like you, you spoke your mind, you are a very classy woman and I am proud of you!!! I have no balls, I wish I was more like you! Keep it up little Kelli girl, you ROCK!!!!

Smooth, thanks! Your right! I am happy to be the slow running granny! No more excuses for me! I love the picture too, the beach is one of my most favorite places in all the world. Did you notice the empty beach?? My folk's place is on a private beach and we have it all to ourselves, it is a little corner of paradise!

Maurine, I want to run with you!!!!!!

I grew some for a minute, but they are gone again!

You two are so cute together. Nice picture.

What is that blue stuff above you and what strange thing causes you to see shadows?

From leslie peterson on Thu, Jun 18, 2009 at 16:22:46 from 76.23.61.78

Thanks Maurine!

It's California sunshine, we don't have that stuff here.

Let's go to the beach girls!!
