Personal:

I started running at age 40 (14 years ago!)  I am married to Harold, he is a super supportive husband and we enjoy running and biking the trails along the Wasatch Front together. Between us we have 7 children and 9 grandchildren.  I am really having fun trying new races in scenic parts of Utah, I am a newbie in the ultrarunning world, I am slow, but love everything about it!  I have a lot to learn, but I am enjoying the journey.

Oh my goodness, I have gone from being scared to death and intimated by bootcamp to LOVING it!!  I never in a million years thought I could enjoy strength training. I come out of there soaking wet and feeling like a million bucks!  It is so hard, but so satisfying, why did it take me 54  years to realize this?  I guess I am a slow learner!   I finally dropped 2 pounds, the weight is coming off slow, but my clothes fit better and I feel stronger every day.

Julie asked me to help her start running. I was thrilled she asked for my help.  We ran on the JRP today.  We did a 10 min. warm up and then ran 2 min. and walked 2 min. and then did a 10 min. cool down.  We did 3.25 miles together.  I am so happy that Julie is doing something for herself, she has been consumed with Paul's care and has not made time for herself.  I hope I can get her  hooked!!  I was very proud of her.  We took her cute new puppy Ziggy with us, she is an adorable Goldendoodle!  I am going to run with her tomorrow too.

Leslie you're a workout machine! Nice job with the strength training. I'm running up above Brighton tomorrow and the Wasatch Crest on Friday. It looks like we are running a lot of the same trails these days, but just on different days. :) One of these days I may see you on the trail. I hope you have a great week.

Look for me! I am a redheaded granny usually with handsome gray haired guy on bike behind me. Scott, here is a tip for you, but you probably already know this, do not do the Crest on a Sat. even day, it is like rush hour! I need to do bike days cause of my hubby, but it was crazy on Sat!!! We decided next time we are going to be at Gaurdmens before the sun comes up and walk up puke hill in the dark and then run, we did that last year and had the place to ourselves!! Have fun on your mountain runs, I am happy to share my backyard with you!!! :) lol!

Leslie, WHAT an AWESOME workout day...loving bootcamp, feeling like a million bucks and running with Julie!!! So happy Julie starts to run for herself. Can't imagine the trials she and Paul have gone thru this past year. What better way to do something for herself than to pick up running and have a wonderful mom to mentor her. Kudos to you, Julie and Ziggy!!!

Lysa! Hello! Do you live in Cottonwood Heights?? I have been going to the rec center for almost 20 years, and I do know Tammy. I usually go to Trisha's muscle-up class, but am not going while I am doing the bootcamp. The bootcamp is amazing, I absolutely love it.

Thanks for dropping by!

Way to hang tough superwoman! Glad to hear you are starting to enjoy kicking your own butt - maybe it will stick when this is all done.
