Personal:

I started running at age 40 (14 years ago!)  I am married to Harold, he is a super supportive husband and we enjoy running and biking the trails along the Wasatch Front together. Between us we have 7 children and 9 grandchildren.  I am really having fun trying new races in scenic parts of Utah, I am a newbie in the ultrarunning world, I am slow, but love everything about it!  I have a lot to learn, but I am enjoying the journey.

Maurine and I met in Draper and did a great run on the Porter Rockwell trail.  I had NO idea it went so far, I thought it stopped at South Mountain, we went out 4 1/2 miles and then back.  We are anxious to get back there and see how far out it goes. It was 23degrees when we started, felt great. The trail is wonderful!!!  We need to get  the bloggers out there to do a run.

Maurine and I are trying to figure out our 2009 race calendar, it is so much fun making plans.  We are almost positive we are going to do the Sunmart 50 Mile trail run in Texas in Dec.   I have dreamed about it for years, and this year (knock on wood)  I think it will happen.  It WILL happen!!

I can hardly wait until Painters next weekend!!!!  It is going to be SO much fun!!!!

Sounds like a WONDERFUL trail! the 23 degrees sounds a bit cold. I want to live some where the temps are in the 50's in the morning and the high is 75 to 83. Where is this fantasy world? It only rains at night when we are asleep :)

Me too Marion! Let's move to Hawaii!

I'll be by to pick you up! ALOHA!!!

These cookies are pretty darn good!

I have never even heard of that trail! Plan a run, I will be there (and I will being muffins, of course!)

This was a great week for you, good job!!!

From tarzan on Sat, Jan 10, 2009 at 18:31:27

Twas good running with you Leslie.

Kelli - bring the muffins, not be the muffins.

From Kelli on Sat, Jan 10, 2009 at 18:33:04

Na, I am pretty good at being a muffin!

From leslie on Sat, Jan 10, 2009 at 19:01:18

Tarzan, where are your social skills?? Kelli, you are not a muffin, you are a dainty flower! (that's what I tell my husband to call me when I am feeling alittle pudgy).

We will plan a group run soon, it is a nice location for all of us to get to I think. I guess the Utah County folks would have a bit of a drive, but it would be worth it! There was not one speck of snow on the ground!

Nice run Leslie!

I definitely want to check out that trail.

A fifty miler, huh? You are unbelievably amazing (and perhaps a little crazy)!! :)

From Smooth on Sun, Jan 11, 2009 at 00:27:32

Sounds like a nice trail run. Any hills? I'd be interested to check that out.

Glad to hear you and Tarzan got your 50 miler plan mapped out. See you in a week.

Teena and Smooth, just little rolling hills. A good meeting place is at the bridge at South Mountain, there is a parking lot there. We will plan a group run after Painters. I found out doing a google search that we about did the whole route, so some of you may want to run it twice. I plan on going there alot,it reminds me of the Lehi trail, bascially flat and not alot of foot traffic, except a few runners.
