Personal:

I started running at age 40 (14 years ago!)  I am married to Harold, he is a super supportive husband and we enjoy running and biking the trails along the Wasatch Front together. Between us we have 7 children and 9 grandchildren.  I am really having fun trying new races in scenic parts of Utah, I am a newbie in the ultrarunning world, I am slow, but love everything about it!  I have a lot to learn, but I am enjoying the journey.

I had great intentions this morning, I bundled up in my winter clothes and got Odee in the car and drove to the PR trail, as I drove the storm became almost a white out, so I turned around, put poor sad Odee back in the house and went to the gym. I did the treadmill for as long as I could stand it, not long obviously. 3 miles AP 11:19 April 1st begins the "5 Pound April Contest without a scale" I resisted the urge to stand on it this morning, I am on my way! If anyone is interested in joining us and let's get off 5 pounds and be in great shape for Ogden!!  Now off to make my eggwhite omlette.

Be nice today folks! I think I'll email Harold and tell him I am pregnant.

Congratulations on the baby! Harold will be thrilled ;)

Great treadmill run! Still no snow down here. I am going to go run 7. I'll do what I can outside. ;)

What does "...without a scale" mean? You try to lose the weight but you don't check the scale during the month? I would love to drop 5 pounds in April!

From Smooth on Wed, Apr 01, 2009 at 11:27:09 from 71.36.78.130

LOL! That's a GREAT idea. I will email my hubs that same message!

You're making omlette with no j'oke? It's a blizzard here all morning. Merry Christmas!

MARION RUN NOW AND FAST THE STORM IS COMING AND IT IS A DOOZY!!

Sno, a few of us on the blog are going to try to drop 5 pounds this month and not wiegh ourselves daily, it is huge for me, I am a physco about the scale, it is helping Kelli and I know it will be good for me. JOIN US!!~ Maybe you would want to weigh today and then not until the end of the month, to see how you do. Just for fun!

Smooth, Merry Christmas!!!! Is it a treadmill day for you too? My omelette was good it was sort of a breakfast burrito, I put it in a homemade whole wheat tortia. YUM!

I'm in for the 5 pounds in April challenge! I don't know if I can do it without weighting myself though.

From leslie on Wed, Apr 01, 2009 at 12:08:54 from 76.23.61.78

I know what you mean, I just took a shower and wanted to jump on the scale soooo bad, but I DID NOT!! You can do it!!!! THat is if you want to, either way welcome aboard! Are you doing Ogden too?

From Metcalf Running on Wed, Apr 01, 2009 at 12:43:02 from 207.225.192.66

I'm signed up to run the full... I not certain I'm ready, so I figured when it gets down to it, if things are looking/feeling bad, I jump on the 1/2 bus. :)

I did that to Scott last year and he believed me. I let it go for 3 days. He was more than relieved when I told him I was not!!! LMK if Harold buys it!!

I guess I am in trouble, maybe I will go back to ignoring the scale for the entire month and just count today as the weigh in to determine where I started. I will have to think on that for a bit. I LOVE not weighing at all.

Good job today, 3 miles is 3 miles more than most people!!!

I FINALLY watched Marley and Me last night. I just kept thinking about Odee while I was watching it. I know Odee is not a lab, but he looks like one!!! We had a dog for 14 years. We had to put him to sleep a little over two years ago and it was so hard that I just can not bare to get another dog! That movie made me debate about it for a minute!

Kelli, I know already that the "no scale" thing is going to be good for me. I want to learn to eat healthy and judge my weight on how my clothes fit. The numbers make me nuts. I feel relieved already and as a result I am thinking less of food. We will see how this month goes and see if I need to re-evaluate things, but I am giving it a honest try.

oh, and Harold sent me an email saying he was soooo happy!

You two will be the cutest parents :) Odee will be such a great big brother :)

I am the kind of person who probably *should* weigh more often. I think, "Oh I'm doing great! I'll bet I'm down a pound," and then I finally get around to checking, only to find no change. That has been my theme since January now. No change...

Sno---look at the bright side, at least it is not UP!!!!
