Personal:

I started running at age 40 (14 years ago!)  I am married to Harold, he is a super supportive husband and we enjoy running and biking the trails along the Wasatch Front together. Between us we have 7 children and 9 grandchildren.  I am really having fun trying new races in scenic parts of Utah, I am a newbie in the ultrarunning world, I am slow, but love everything about it!  I have a lot to learn, but I am enjoying the journey.

I had bootcamp at 5:00a, it was a hard upper body work out, but I am getting used to this and as hard as it is, I am loving it. I love getting up at 4:20 and getting my work out in and then heading up to hike/run with friends in the mountains.

This morning I picked up Ardath at 6:30 and we drove to the Upper Millcreek parking lot, when we got out of the car it was 49 degrees, when we got back to the car it was 58 degrees.  It is shady on the Great Western and Dog Lake trails.  I think the Pipeline is too exposed for the heat we have now, so our plan to stay high was perfect.  We had a great time, not anywhere near the foot/bike traffic we had on Sat.  By the time we got home, at 9:30 it was 78 degreees. I would not want to hike or run in that much heat.  I am lucky to have the mountains in my backyard.

Kudos for getting up early! You accomplished so much before the sun even hits the valley. I need to follow your example. So happy to hear that you're enjoying boot camp. So AWESOME that you have a friend to run trails with. Yes, very lucky indeed to live so close to the beautiful mountains. Have a great day and week!

I should have run Millcreek like I planned. Instead I did the Trax trail starting at 7 and roasted!

Have fun with my sis!

Thanks Smooth, life is good right now! My daughter Julie, who is married to Paul wants to start running, so I am going to be her coach/motivator, I hope she catches the bug, she spends so much time helping Paul that she hasn't had time for herself. Tomorrow is our first run, my friend suggested that I let her set the pace and not push her, I think that sounds like a good idea.

I need to pop over and check on your day! Thanks for always being so upbeat!!
