Long-Term Running Goals:

Stay fit enough to run marathons all thru my life

Personal:

I started running at age 40 (14 years ago!)  I am married to Harold, he is a super supportive husband and we enjoy running and biking the trails along the Wasatch Front together. Between us we have 7 children and 9 grandchildren.  I am really having fun trying new races in scenic parts of Utah, I am a newbie in the ultrarunning world, I am slow, but love everything about it!  I have a lot to learn, but I am enjoying the journey.

I forgot to set my alarm and woke up 10 minutes before bootcamp.  If you are late, you have to do 10 push-ups for every minute you are late, I opted to play hookie.  I am into this 8 weeks now and this is my first sluff, not bad.  It felt good to sleep in.

My run with Julie was also canceled due to Paul having 2 seizures last night, Julie didn't dare leave him, so I opted out of that as well.  It is kind of nice to have  a day off. I took Julie down my juicer and a bunch of carrots and apples, she is going to try and get Paul off of processed foods, since his stroke he has lost his appetite and wants a lot of junk food, we think a healthier diet will help, even if  he is not excited about it, he is at Julie's mercy and I think she is going to insist he eats better.

As a side note, I am down 5 pounds from bootcamp, and  down one dress size.  I feel alot stronger and  am really pleased with the results.  I have  4 weeks to go.  I am hoping for another 5 pounds now that my nutrition is on the right path.  That will have me at a decent weight for St. George.

Have a great long weekend, and good luck on all your races and your time off!

CONGRATS on the 5 lbs drop weigh goal! You are doing AWESOME! Sorry about Paul's seizures. Julie is such a good wife/nurse! I agree with the good nutrition. It is always a good thing to eat healthy. Here's to dropping 5 more this month! YOU ARE DOING IT!!!!!

Thanks Smooth, I think I am on track now, if I can stay focused, I should be able to do this!

Julie is a trouper, it is tough being a care taker at the young age of 28. She does it with class though, I am so proud of her.

Off to see what amazing things you have done today!

Sorry about Paul. That stinks.

Happy that you had a day of relative rest!!!

And ... so amazingly happy about your reaching your goals so magnificently. You really are tough ... and you definitly should feel strong!!!
