Personal:

I started running at age 40 (14 years ago!)  I am married to Harold, he is a super supportive husband and we enjoy running and biking the trails along the Wasatch Front together. Between us we have 7 children and 9 grandchildren.  I am really having fun trying new races in scenic parts of Utah, I am a newbie in the ultrarunning world, I am slow, but love everything about it!  I have a lot to learn, but I am enjoying the journey.

I did a route this morning that I haven't done in awhile, it is very hilly, I go down by the Cottonbottom and up past the Old Mill and up to the mouth of Big Cottonwood Canyon, it was warm but very windy.  I will have to work at getting my pace faster thru the spring, I did a bit of walking.

6.32 miles    AP 13:13

Tomorrow is week #8 of the weigh in, if I have a perfect day I should be down, the scale is looking good if I can just hang on!

I think I actually know that area. DH and I used to ski in Utah before DD was born. We should return sometime - that was the most incredible snow I've ever been on.

Pace is hard in the wind. I can attest to that.

Good luck on your weigh in. I weigh in privately with a friend every week, and mine was inexplicably dreadful this week. I'm guessing hormones.

We have the greatest snow on earth, so they say, I don't enjoy skiing at all, I grew up in California and prefer sunshine and beaches. I married a skiier and work at Snowbird so he can ski free.

Don't you just hate those bad weigh ins? They can ruin a perfectly good day! The older we get the harder it is. Hey, you have a great day and come out to Utah and run with us!!

I've driven thru that area many times. It has some mean hills. Not to mention the wicked wind of the west today!!! AWESOME JOB, Leslie!!!

GOOD LUCK on the weigh in. You're working so hard at this, you deserve a good weigh-in.

That is a sweet route. I'd love to run it with you one day.

From leslie on Wed, Mar 04, 2009 at 19:09:34 from 76.23.61.78

Smooth, it is a grunter for sure, but I do like it!

Maurine, want to do it tomorrow morning? I would love to have your company and see how much time I could shave off running with you.

What time could you do it at?

From leslie on Wed, Mar 04, 2009 at 19:11:01 from 76.23.61.78

Whatever works for you

5:30?

I think I've been stood up. Off to buy some mint chocolate ice cream for my dinner.

From leslie on Wed, Mar 04, 2009 at 19:16:48 from 76.23.61.78

Yes!!!! 5:30 is perfect!!!!

Sorry you got stood up, but Mint Chocolate ice cream sounds like better company to me. I just ate 3 tangerines and cheese stick and I am starving still. I am fixing turkey burger patties and a salad for dinner and then I think I better take some tylenol pm so I fall asleep instead of listen to my stomach gurgle all night. This contest is making me crazy.

See you in the morning!!! Yahoo!!! I wonder how much time we will cut. I am thinking at least 10 minutes.

How did the weigh in go?

From leslie on Thu, Mar 05, 2009 at 10:31:35 from 76.23.61.78

check out my blog, it was hard getting there. I ate hardly anything last night and had nothing in the morning, no energy to work out, but the scale did drop. Now the trick is keeping it off and trying to drop a bit for next week, just hanging on to the lost pound takes willpower. Thanks for checking on me Deborah!
