Personal:

I started running at age 40 (14 years ago!)  I am married to Harold, he is a super supportive husband and we enjoy running and biking the trails along the Wasatch Front together. Between us we have 7 children and 9 grandchildren.  I am really having fun trying new races in scenic parts of Utah, I am a newbie in the ultrarunning world, I am slow, but love everything about it!  I have a lot to learn, but I am enjoying the journey.

I did my run to the mouth of Big Cottonwood Canyon. Last time I had an AP of 12mm, this morning I did with an AP of 11:15. I had to hurry home to do an appt. and then I am going to go back out for another run. It is perfect weather out right now.

I called Maurine and she met me at Wheeler Farm to run, she does it all the time, I had only done it once on a 5k with Maurine. It is such a great place!  Lots of dirt trails weaving around this beautiful wooded area, and you can see some fun animals too.  While we were running Julie called and said she and Paul wanted to come over and walk so when they got there Maurine took Odee and did some more running while I walked with the kids for a few minutes. I am going to be going over there alot!  Thanks Maurine!  Call me next time you go over on your lunch hour!

Oh, and since I am on a quest to find the worlds most perfect sugar cookie, I tried Kneaders, Kelli thinks they are the best and they are VERY VERY good, but I still prefer Paradise Bakery!  Different strokes for different folks I guess.

Wow! you must live up by Cottonwood Heights (the rec center) to only get 4 in going to the mouth of the canyon!! I worked up there for a few years out of college (parks and rec major). The wind is nasty out here, so I hope it stays away from your side until after your next run - because other than the wind IT IS BEAUTIFUL!! Great run this morning, AND dropping your AP nearly a minute, I'm impressed!! See you Sat :)

You didn't tell me you had already run once this morning! It was fun running with you and Odee today.

GOOD JOB on your run and getting speedier. WOW, you're doing 2-a-day!!! Hope the wind stays away from your 2nd run. It's like tornado here.

I think the temperatures dropped 5-10 degrees during our run - don't you, Leslie? Also - there were some good headwinds when heading south.

RAD- I live on a culdesac that backs up to the soccer field behind the rec. center. I have been going to the rec center for years and know most of the folks there. That is fun you used to work there. I love that place.

I will not be joining everyone Sat. I will be going to Torrey for the weekend, so you guys have fun without me!

Maurine, thanks for meeting me on the spur of the moment, I would love to do that as often as I can, so let me know when you go and I will try and hook up with you. That is a great place. Odee says thanks for the extra run around the trails while I walked with Julie and Paul.

Smooth, that was a great way to get in 8 miles today, 4 in the morning and 4 with Maurine, yahoo! Have fun Sat. with the gang, I will miss you guys!
