Personal:

I started running at age 40 (14 years ago!)  I am married to Harold, he is a super supportive husband and we enjoy running and biking the trails along the Wasatch Front together. Between us we have 7 children and 9 grandchildren.  I am really having fun trying new races in scenic parts of Utah, I am a newbie in the ultrarunning world, I am slow, but love everything about it!  I have a lot to learn, but I am enjoying the journey.

I did my hilly Old Mill route this morning, Maurine was going to join me and we were going to do it 5:30am, but she called last night and was not feeling well. Dang it!  She needs to get better and FAST!!  My plan was to see if I could go just a tad faster than the last time I ran it and I did.  Last time my AP was 12:51  this morning it was 12:15.  Yeah!

Harold and I still have not gone out on a bike ride after work.  We were going to ride every day  after he gets home.  I will have to think of a bribe!

My best bribe for getting on the bike when I don't want to, is that I keep reminding myself about last fall when I was riding a TON. When I stopped, I could run a mile further EVERYDAY than I had been able to do before. So apparently the biking was improving my fitness and ability to run without hurting myself. So maybe that will help. Biking helps us more mature ladies with improved fitness and reduces injury which will make us be able to RUN FOREVER!!! ;D

BTW- your run was AWESOME!! Way to improve your time :) That is stinkin' amazing :)

Good job, Leslie. Glad you ran without me, but sorry you had to do so.

Marion, I will start biking! I am glad you felt like it was helpful with your training. It will be something to do with my hubby. What I really want is a Cruiser Bike, that sounds fun to me.

Maurine, I know if I do that route with you my AP will be much faster. Take care, I am glad you took a day off! You will bounce back quick, if you let your body rest.

That is more than a tad faster! GREAT JOB! Enjoy this beautiful day and get that fun bike ride in!

What are you doing tomorrow???? Anything SPECIAL?

From leslie on Wed, Mar 18, 2009 at 14:57:24 from 76.23.61.78

Kelli, I am a funny girl, I don't like to really push, I am sissy-la-la runner. I need someone to push me.

Hey, How did you know it was a special day tomorrow? I am going to the Cheesecake Factory Sat. with Harold's kids and tomorrow Harold is giving me a massage, that's all I know of. My kids haven't said anything yet, but we don't do much for BD's anyway, so it is all good. If my hubby really loved me he would get me a cruizer bike and a gift card to Chico's but I will be happy with anything. My friend just took me to Zuppa's for lunch so I am celebrating all week long!

Thanks Marion! A sore bum means you been working out, I wish I had one!

I wish the sore bum was from a work out, but it is from the bike. Man, that bike seat just really gets me good ;)
