Personal:

I started running at age 40 (14 years ago!)  I am married to Harold, he is a super supportive husband and we enjoy running and biking the trails along the Wasatch Front together. Between us we have 7 children and 9 grandchildren.  I am really having fun trying new races in scenic parts of Utah, I am a newbie in the ultrarunning world, I am slow, but love everything about it!  I have a lot to learn, but I am enjoying the journey.

I decided it was about time to try a little run.  I ran up to Bywater Park and then walked home.  The legs felt pretty good, but I am still mentally in a recovery mode.  I will probably take it easy the rest of the month.

Nice little miles :) I like them :) You rest and recover for the rest of this year. Only cute little mile for fun :) You deserve a BIG recovery period :)

Marion, I like the way you think, I probably will take it easy thru the rest of the year. My next race is not until April, so I think I will enjoy my "little baby runs" for now.

I hope your hip is feeling better, I am glad you can bike and hang with Michelle, it sounds like you are having a blast!

Good job training again. Let your body heal!

Maurine, you know it, heal, rest, recover, I can do that VERY well.

a run 'up' to Bywater park isn't all that easy! :) I'm glad you're getting some good miles in and feeling good.

From Kelli on Wed, Oct 21, 2009 at 17:37:13 from 71.219.97.106

I agree, you deserve a VERY long break...which reminds me, I have not looked at the report yet, so I am off to do that!

From leslie peterson on Wed, Oct 21, 2009 at 19:18:11 from 76.23.61.78

Rad, it was a bit of a climb, but I took it nice and slow! I haven't checked up on you, I need to visit your blog, I have reading your comments on FB!

Kelli, the race was better than I ever imagined it could be, I started talking about it to a friend at Enrichment last night and started to cry, and I am NOT a crier!

I do plan on taking it easy thru the winter, my next race is the Red Mountain 50K in April, so I can chill thru the holidays and then start hitting it in Jan. I think you need to do REd Mountain with me my dear!

From Smooth on Wed, Oct 21, 2009 at 19:24:39 from 174.23.240.142

:) WAY to go, my dear ultra queen!

From leslie peterson on Wed, Oct 21, 2009 at 19:40:54 from 76.23.61.78

Smooth, you are an ultra queen now too!! I think you need to look at the Red Mountain 50K and you too RAD!!!!!

From Smooth on Wed, Oct 21, 2009 at 19:51:48 from 174.23.240.142

Red Mountain sounds fun. But I'm afraid it's too close to Boston which is on April 19. When is Red Mountain?

From leslie peterson on Wed, Oct 21, 2009 at 19:56:59 from 76.23.61.78

oh yeah, I believe it is on the 24th, that would not work for you.

From Smooth on Wed, Oct 21, 2009 at 20:04:13 from 174.23.240.142

How about Antelope Island? Are you running that one? Wasn't it in March?

From Kelli on Wed, Oct 21, 2009 at 20:37:21 from 71.219.97.106

I SO want to do that race, but there is BOSTON! I wish they had not canceled the REd Mountain last year, I was all signed up and everything!!!

From leslie peterson on Wed, Oct 21, 2009 at 20:45:02 from 76.23.61.78

No I am not going to do Antelope, but I bet Maurine will.

From leslie peterson on Wed, Oct 21, 2009 at 20:46:59 from 76.23.61.78

Thats right, Kelli, YOU ARE GOING TO BOSTON!!!!! YAY!!!

Maybe you girls should do Antelope with Maurine, just for a warm up for Boston!
